Abstract

Women have an essential contribution to economic growth and development. However, according to data, the Gender Inequality Index (GII) is still relatively high in developing countries, so special attention should be paid to aspects of women’s empowerment, health, and participation in the labor market as an indicator in measuring GII. In women’s empowerment, women’s education and women’s literacy are thought to affect women’s labor force participation. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of women’s literacy rates on female labor force participation in ASEAN countries from 2010- 2017. The method used to analyze the effect on the model is the static panel data method. The results show that countries with high female literacy rates also have high female labor participation rates. The results help economists and policymakers evaluate measures to optimize women’s labor market decisions and empower women by improving women’s literacy rates.

Abstract

The research was carried out to investigate women's contributions in the political aspect, especially in the legislative institutions in the province of West Java, Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach, with data processing based on panel data analysis. The Gender Development Index (IPG) was chosen as the dependent variable. In contrast, the independent variables used the Total Female Population (JPP), Average Years of Schooling (RLS), Number of Female Legislative Members (JALP), and the Gender Empowerment Index (IBG). The study used the province of West Java as the location, with secondary data from 2017 to 2020. The results showed that the average length of schooling (RLS) was the only variable positively influencing the Gender Development Index (GPA). This shows that the contribution of women on the political stage will increase along with the number of women with higher education. Other variables do not affect the index.

Abstract

The creative economy’s GDP contribution continues to increase every year, relatively in accordance with the employment. By increasing the creative economy sector, it is expected that it will be able to solve problems in development and eliminate the economic dependence on natural resources. However, efforts to develop the creative economy still have a number of problems, which one of the main obstacles is the role of policy makers or the government. This research aims to further discuss the role of local government in supporting the development and the strengthening of the creative economy in Indonesia. This study applies a qualitative approach with the method of literature study, by obtaining secondary data from articles, journals related to the creative economy and local governments with a total of 51 papers. The data is collected from the Publish or Perish (PoP) application by using literature sources from Google Scholar and Scopus. For data analysis, this study applies content analysis through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is tested by using source triangulation. The results of the study show that local governments have played an active role in the efforts to strengthen the creative economy sector. Yet, they still have a lot of homework to do in improving the quality of the creative economy sector.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the procurement of Dassault Rafale from France. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using the literature review method. Data collection was sourced from literature such as books, local and international journal articles, a collection of press releases and actual news, as well as official websites of agencies related to this research. This study discusses the implementation of the Dassault Rafale procurement policy in Indonesia when some aspects do not recommend it. As a result, there were political and economic considerations that culminated in the decision to bring in the Dassault Rafale even though there are more sophisticated and cheaper fighter jets because Indonesia needs to be careful in deciding a policy, especially in considering the negative impact of politics. and economic aspects. In the procurement of the Dassault Rafale, the policies adopted were heavily influenced by international politics, especially due to the existence of the CAATSA Law. Indonesia's free and active foreign policy still needs to be implemented, but the government also needs to pay attention to regional geostrategy and domestic economic conditions in the future in the procurement of defense equipment

Abstract

Web application development requires a simple yet robust architecture. Thus, MERN Stack framework has gaining popularity. MERN Stack combines several layers like MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJS and NodeJS. The framework focuses on JavaScript programming language. The MERN Stack implementation in this case is for the development of a web-based Student Admissions (PPDB) system at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura. System evaluation is carried out using three testing methods, namely black-box testing, system usability scale (SUS), and page speed test. The results of the black-box show that the system has perfect functionality with error percentage of 0%. Meanwhile, the SUS test shows an average value of 78.98 which means the application is acceptable and can be implemented. The performance of web access speed is evaluated using Google page speed test and GTmetrix. It shows good performance with a value reaching 73 and an average load time of 7 seconds.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the entry of women into the world of work indicates the development of the function and role of women in the family and society. Not only as mothers and wives, now women are starting to take on the duties of a worker. Women's participation in the labor market can be seen through the labor force participation rate indicator or TPAK. TPAK can show the percentage of the female workforce among several residents of an area in a certain period. This study aims to explain women's TPAK, especially those in the former Bojonegoro Residency area in the 2016-2020 period. The method used is a quantitative descriptive method. The data used is secondary data from BPS and related publications in several editions. The results showed that the TPAK of women in the former Bojonegoro Residency area increased from year to year, from 2016-2020. In 2016, the TPAK of women in the former Bojonegoro Residency area was 33.54% and increased to 38.6% in 2020. This increase proves an increase in women's participation in the job market, especially in the former Bojonegoro Residency area. Keywords: Labor Force; Population; TPAK; Women

Foreign investment, exports, and government spending are some of the variables closely related to a country's development. This study aims to look at the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI), export values, and government spending on economic growth in ASEAN-5 countries. These countries include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore. The research method uses a quantitative approach with panel data analysis. The type of data is secondary data from the World Bank database from 2005 to 2017. The data is then tested through the Breusch and Pagan tests and the Hausman test. Finally, the data were analyzed using panel data regression analysis. The study result shows that FDI and exports have a positive but not significant effect on economic growth in ASEAN-5 countries. Meanwhile, the government expenditure variable has a positive and significant influence on the economic growth of ASEAN-5 countries.
