Abstract

Social media has now penetrated into the world of education which is used by teachers and students to facilitate learning activities. This research is motivated by the low awareness of students in using social media as a support for the learning process, this results in a learning process that is less than optimal and has an impact on learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to socialize wisely in using social media in the learning process in order to increase human resources with broad and quality insights. The place of research is SDN Kedungjaya 2. The research subjects are students of class V and VI. This study uses a type of descriptive qualitative research. This qualitative descriptive method is based on information obtained during the research process to explain and describe. The formulation of the problem in this research is because many students pay less attention to the negative and positive impacts of social media, and can only use it. The data analysis technique used is by interview and observation. The results of this study indicate that students can run social media such as communicating with teachers, or friends, and family. Utilizing social media as a support for the learning process is able to have a positive impact on teachers and students, as well as feel the use of social media themselves in exploring their abilities, especially in using the media in creating assignments and materials in learning.
