Abstract

The utilization of palm trunks has not been optimal and was a problem for oil palm plantation rejuvenation because of its huge amount, reaching 220 m3 / hectare. And it was a method to utilize waste trunks into products that are worth selling, environmentally friendly and give benefits for oil palm growers. In particularly, the target of this research was a product in the form of compost fertilizer made from raw waste palm trunks. The high nutrient resources owned by palm trunks were expected to produce high quality compost. Based on the result of the research of composting of palm trunks and the analysis of each of the above compost which include the level of C / N, C - Organic, N, P, K, pH and water ratio, it could be concluded that good compost type was found in variable compost 4 which with the result of C / N ratio 18,9%, C - Orgaik 21,5%, value of N, P, K approaching 4 that is 3,97%, pH 8,43% and water content 24%.

Abstract

Indonesia as the largest palm oil producer in the world has problems with the amount of solid waste such as boiler ash that has not been utilized properly. This study aims to determine the effect of boiler ash on the resulting paving blocks and obtain the best paving block characteristics. Utilization of boiler ash from burning palm oil waste as a partial substitute for sand in the manufacture of concrete wall paving blocks is carried out in several stages of work, namely the stages of sifting samples, mixing, molding, drying and testing the resulting product. The making of concrete wall paving blocks is done by varying the boiler ash in the composition of the concrete mixture with the ratio of cement to boiler ash, namely 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, and 1:5. Based on the results of characteristic testing that will be carried out on the concrete wall paving block products, which include compressive strength and absorption, the best results are obtained from the 1:1 treatment with the following characteristics: absorption capacity of 19.73% and compressive strength of 5.7 Mpa

Abstract

Pemanfaatan kandungan karotenoid minyak sawit sebagai sumber provitamin A alami, yang dapat diaplikasikan sebagai fortifikasi bahan pangan salah satunya adalah pada olahan margarin. Penelitian ini dibuat bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan margarin, mengetahui pengaruh variasi perbandingan (Stearin:RPO)% terhadap mutu margarin serta untuk mengetahui variasi perbandingan stearin:RPO terbaik terhadap mutu margarin yang dihasilkan dan bahan baku yang digunakan adalah stearin hasil penelitian pembuatan minyak goreng dan Red Palm Oil. Dalam penelitian pembuatan margarin menggunakan metode blending dengan mencampurkan fase minyak dan fase air serta variasi perbandingan stearin:RPO (%) yang digunakan adalah 100:0, 95:5, 90:10, 85:15 dan 80:20. Hasil optimum dalam pembuatan margarin dengan variasi perbandingan Berdasarkan hasil Analisa mutu margarin meliputi fisik dan kimia, margarin terbaik yang dihasilkan adalah margarin dengan variasi perbandingan (Stearin:RPO) 85:15 dengan bau, rasa, dan warna yang hampir menyerupai margarin komersil dan cukup disukai oleh panelis, dengan sifat kimia yang terkandung meliputi kadar air sebesar 11,893% bilangan asam sebesar 2,5225 mgKOH/g, kadar karoten sebesar 132,8276 ppm dan kadar lemak sebesar 97,5716%.

Abstract

Perkembangan areal perkebunan kelapa sawit menyebabkan banyaknya limbah yang dihasilkan, baik yang berasal dari limbah perkebunan seperti pelepah kelapa sawit maupun limbah dari pabrik pengolahan kelapa sawit seperti bungkil inti kelapa sawit. Pola integrasi kelapa sawit-sapi diharapkan dapat menjadi bagian integral dalam usaha perkebunan yang dapat mendukung pengembangan sapi potong produksi dalam negeri dengan pemanfaatan limbah industri kelapa sawit sebagai sumber pakan sapi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari pemanfaatan pelepah kelapa sawit sebagai sumber alternatif pakan hijauan ternak dan mendapatkan hasil analisis produk dari proses pembuatan pakan hijauan ternak agar sesuai dengan SNI 3148.2:2009. Komposisi terbaik pada pembuatan pakan hijauan ternak pada komposisi dedak padi 5 % dan bungkil inti kelapa sawit 5 %. Hasil produk pakan hijauan ternak terbaik yang dihasilkan ini telah memenuhi syarat SNI 3148.2:2009 yaitu 13,94 % kadar air ; 8,9 % kadar abu ; 31,42 % kadar serat kasar dan 6,47 % kadar lemak kasar

Abstract

The use of chemical fertilizers that are not equalized with organic fertilizers can damage the soil fertility and it is not environmentally friendly, because the microorganisms which have a role in decompose process will not develop. On the other hand, the high prices of organic fertilizers make farmers reluctant to use organic fertilizers. To solve this problem, farmers could be used microorganism with culturing process. The purpose of this research is to determine the comparison of EM4 with culturing process and EM4 in commercial liquid organic fertilizer that applied in mustard plants.

Abstract

Polytechnic Kampar has a cooking oil plant, where students can learn the real experience of cooking oil processing. Currently, no treatment for the spent bleaching earth as waste that generated in the cooking oil processing. Spent Bleaching Earth resulting from the process of bleaching in the processing still contains substances such as oil and carotene. Extraction of carotenoids substance from spent bleaching earth is one of the alternative recovery carotene from waste.In general, the objectives of this research was to utilize the waste from bleaching process by extracting carotenoids from spent bleaching earth and analyse the extract of carotene. Thus, the utilization of spent bleaching earth can be completed and provide added value to the cooking oil plant.This study was conducted using two (2) types of solvents, namely hexane and acetone to separate carotenes from spent bleaching earth, that obtain optimum conditions for both the solvent and the ratio between the sample and the time of extraction process. The extract of carotene was analyzed using a UV –Vis spectrophotometer .

Abstract

Riau at this time has become one of the provinces with the largest oil palm plantations in Indonesia. This vast oil palm plantation is also offset by the rapid growth of palm oil mills (PKS) in Riau province itself. thus the availability of CPO as a source of raw material for cooking oil in general can be said to be sufficient. Kampar Polytechnic is one of the educational institutions in Riau, precisely in Kampar Regency. Since its inception, this Polytechnic has had a specific goal as an institution capable of producing graduates who have extensive knowledge in the palm oil industry, both upstream and downstream industries. This is what underlies the construction of miniplants or mini factories as part of the Kampar Polytechnic. This miniplant was built with the main objective of being a learning tool for Kampar Polytechnic students to be able to experience the industrial environment on a small scale, especially industries related to the chemical processing of CPO.

Abstract

The Sawit Jaya Village Unit Cooperative (KUD) in Tapung District, Kampar Regency, Riau still uses a manual cashier system in the sales transaction process, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Therefore, innovation is needed by building an electronic cashier system that can improve the performance of the Sawit Jaya KUD business. The aim of this community service is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales transaction process of the Sawit Jaya KUD by implementing an electronic cashier system. The methods used in this community service include discussions, data collection, system design, system development, system implementation, training, and report writing. The results of this community service show that the electronic cashier system has successfully improved the performance of the Sawit Jaya KUD business and can help in producing more accurate and efficient sales reports. Thus, the implementation of an electronic cashier system can be a solution to improve the business performance of the Sawit Jaya KUD.

Abstract

Minyak goreng adalah salah satu produk turunan dari minyak nabati dan sangat dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pengolahan CPO menjadi minyak goreng sebagai produk dalam bidang pangan dilakukan melalui dua proses utama yaitu proses refinery (pemurnian) dan fractionation (penyaringan). Proses bleaching dilakukan dengan menggunakan bleaching earth (BE) sebanyak 1-5% dari berat CPO dan dipanaskan pada suhu 95°C selama 15 menit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas crude palm oil (CPO) sebagai bahan baku produksi minyak goreng sawit, mengetahui proses pembuatan minyak goreng sawit skala laboratorium dengan menggunakan bleaching earth sebagai adsorbennya, mengetahui jumlah bleaching earth terbaik pada proses pemucatan terhadap hasil produksi minyak goreng sawit. Produksi minyak goreng terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu degumming, netralisasi, bleaching, deodorisasi dan fraksinasi. Proses bleaching dilakukan pada suhu 95? selama 15 menit dengan bleaching earth sebagai adsorbennya. Adapun variasi konsentrasi bleaching earth yang digunakan adalah 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% dan 5%.

Abstract

Oil palm is a plantation commodity that has a strategic role in Indonesia's economic development. The development of the palm oil industry in Indonesia is inseparable from the role of planting materials used by oil palm plantation farmers. Superior oil palm seedlings are the basic capital to achieve high productivity and quality of palm oil. The use of illegal or careless seedlings can cause a decrease in productivity of up to 50%. In contrast, by using superior quality oil palm seedlings, stable production levels can be guaranteed for 25 years, hence the type and quality of seedlings is a major concern. This community service related to superior seedling selection strategies in order to increase national oil palm productivity was carried out at KUD Kampar. KUD Kampar oversees 20 farmer groups of oil palm farmers in Kampar district, so that through this service it is hoped that the PKM Polytechnic Kampar Team can be a means for oil palm farmers in Kampar Regency to get correct and accurate information about superior oil palm seeds and be able to increase the productivity of the oil palm plantations owned by KUD Kampar farmer groups.
