Abstract

Background: Psychological distress of parents with preterm infant also could be treated appropriately by enhancing parent’s involvement in infant care, including skin-to-skin contact. A few of studies related to skin-to-skin contact have revealed can benefit from infant and parental outcomes. The previous review only explored the distress among parents with healthy infant. The effect skin-to-skin contact among parents with preterm infant is necessary to be investigated. Objective: This article provided a review related to effect of skin-to-skin contact toward parent stress during preterm infant’s hospitalization in NICU. Methods.A literature review was performed by searching of trials using PubMed, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, and CINAHL and published in English from 2012 to 2022, English-published, full text availability related to skin-to-skin contact, or Kangaroo Mother Care, preterm infants and parental distress (mother and/or father) in NICU. Result: This study involved six trials and 489 parents with preterm infant. Fours studies explored maternal stress and the others assessed parental stress during NICU admission. Five trials reported parental stress deflation after skin-to-skin contact with their infants, otherwise one trial revealed that skin-to-skin contact escalated parental stress due to a more facilitated infant progression. Conclusion: Skin-to-skin contact benefits parents with preterm infants by decreasing the psychological distress during NICU admission.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pandemi COVID 19 selama kurun waktu dua tahun ini telah menghentikan banyak aktivitas manusia, termasuk remaja yang harus belajar secara online di rumah. Aktivitas fisik yang kurang adekuat dan juga sikap kerja tubuh selama beraktivitas di rumah yang tidak memperhatikan prinsip ergonomis dalam jangka waktu yang lama, memberikan dampak terhadap kesehatan terutama munculnya gangguan muskuloskeletal mulai dari yang ringan-sedang pada remaja. Tujuan: melakukan pendidikan kesehatan tentang sikap tubuh ergonomis dan pola hidup sehat untuk mencegah terjadinya musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Metode: Pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis riset dilakukan dengan metode pendidikan kesehatan dengan topik sikap tubuh ergonomis dan pola aktivitas/olahraga dalam rangka mencegah gangguan tulang dan sendi. Peserta yang hadir sebanyak 50 orang. Hasil : Tingkat pengetahuan remaja tentang bagaiman pola aktivitas dan olahraga yang ideal untuk remaja berada pada tingkat sedang yaitu sebanyak 41 anak (82%) dan tingkat pengetahuan tentang sikap ergonomis tubuh dalam aktivitas sehai-hari dalam mencegah musculoskeletal disorder sudah mencapai 96% tingkat pengetahuan yang tinggi. Kesimpulan: Pendidikan kesehatan tentang sikap tubuh ergonomis sangat penting dilakukan pada remaja untuk membekali pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku sikap tubuh ergonomis yang baik dan benar dalam aktivitas sehari-hari sehingga mencegah terjadinya MSDs. Dengan terjaganya kesehatan otot, tulang, dan sendi maka kualitas hidup dan produktivitas remaja akan terpelihara bahkan meningkat. Abstract

Background: COVID-19 pandemic occurred over the past two years remains several health problems in adolescent, especially musculoskeletal disorders due to inadequate physical activity and body’s posture during activities at home which does not pay attention to ergonomic principles in the long term. Objective: To identify the effect of health education on ergonomic posture and healthy lifestyle on knowledge, attitudes, physical activity and nutritional patterns of adolescents in order to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Methods: This study involved 26 students of a senior high school and used a pre-post-test design without a control group. Data collection with a questionnaire was measured before and after health education. The variables measured include knowledge, attitudes and behavior related to nutrition, knowledge and attitudes about ergonomics and MSDs, knowledge of physical activities and sports. Results: Health education had a significant effect on the level of adolescent’s knowledge related to musculoskeletal nutrition (p = 0.006) and the behavior of increasing nutritional intake for musculoskeletal nutrition (p = 0.015), but had no effect on increasing adolescent knowledge regarding ergonomics (p = 0.687) and physical activity for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (p = 1.00). Conclusion: Health education is effective in increasing knowledge and behavior related to musculoskeletal nutrition. Health education innovations are needed to improve attitudes and behavior related to ergonomics and physical activity in adolescents for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders
