Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a serious and chronic (prolonged) disease that causes metabolic intrusion and obstruction, indicated by high blood sugar beyond the normal level. Unhealthy lifestyles, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, bad dietary habit and obesity, lacking of physical activities, and stress, are some of the main contributors or causes of diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this research is to find the direct connection and relation between the behaviour or lifestyle and the case of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 at Ende City Health Center. The design of this research is a survey analytic research using a case-control approach. The total sample in this research is 86 respondents, with a 1:1 (one-to-one) comparison. The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling. The data is taken by doing a guided interview with a questionnaire for test statistic chi-square and odd ratio value. The result of this research shows that the variable of dietary habit (p-value = 0,017 < 0,05 and OR = 3,168 (1,309 – 7,665 and 95% CI), physical activities (p-value = 0,028 < 0,05 and OR = 2,971 (1,212 – 7,279 and 95% CI), consumption of alcohol (p-value = 0,023 < 0,05 and OR = 3,285 (1,273 – 8,478 and 95% CI) directly connected with the case of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. The variable of knowledge (p-value = 0,829 > 0,05 and OR = 1,206 (0,516 – 2,816 and 95% CI) does not have any connection with the case of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. Suggestion for the healthcare workers in the Ende City Health Center to always improve and maintain good service of the health care and  for the people to have regular check-ups and to develop healthy lifestyle such as having proper dietary habits, doing physical activities and controlling the consumption of alcohol to control the level of blood sugar.

Abstract

Various efforts to control dengue cases in Sikka Regency have been carried out, one of which was by issuing a Regent's Instruction in 2019 but cases increased by 1,816 cases from 620 cases in 2019. In 2020 another Regent's Instruction was issued so that dengue cases decreased to 183 cases. There are many risk factors for increasing dengue cases that have not been detected. One way is to look at the risk factors for dengue fever from a regional (spatial) perspective. Sikka Regency has experienced 4 outbreaks in the period 2010-2021. The study aims to analyze the factors that influence the incidence of DHF studied in the spatial analysis model. Type of research is analytic observational with an ecological study design. The data used in this study is secondary data. The results showed that there was an effect of population density in 2020 on the incidence of DHF, while population density in 2019 and 2021 had no effect. There are 6 sub-districts that become hotspot areas (High-High) in the influence of population density with DHF, namely Nelle, Kewapante, Kangae, Alok, East Alok and Lela Districts, while the coldspot (Low-High) areas are East Alok and Koting Districts. The altitude of the area has no effect on the incidence of DHF in 2019-2021. There are 2 hotspots, namely Nelle and Koting sub-districts, while the coldspot areas are in Kewapante, Alok Timur, Kangae and Lela sub-districts. There is no effect of temperature, humidity and rainfall in 2019, whereas in 2020 humidity has a positive effect and rainfall has a negative effect on the incidence of DHF and in 2021 there is a positive effect of air humidity on the incidence of DHF in Sikka Regency. Suggestions for dengue prevention programs need to be prioritized in hotspot and coldspot areas. There needs to be an alert for DHF in neighboring areas of DHF outbreaks. Abstract

ARI is a respiratory tract infection characterized by a fever of 38°C and accompanied by one of the symptoms/signs of respiratory disease such as cough/shortness of breath/sore throat/cold/mild to severe pneumonia (Kemenkes RI, 2020). Home and environmental conditions that do not meet health requirements can be a place for the transmission of environmental-based diseases such as Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI). Dulong Village is one of the villages in the working area of the Alor Kecil Health Center which experienced an increase in the number of ARI cases, from 97 cases in 2018 to 119 cases until October 2020 (Puskesmas Alor Kecil, 2020). This study aims to determine the relationship between the physical condition of the house, the mother's cooking habits with the incidence of ARI in children under five in Dulolong Village. This study uses an analytical survey with a case-control design. The population in this study were all children aged 1-5 years in Dulolong Village, as many as 124 children under five consisting of 69 children under five for the case population and 55 under five for the control population. The sampling technique using the case-control formula obtained 35 samples with a ratio of 1: 1 so that a sample of 70 children under five was needed according to the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Collecting data using questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. After the data was collected then the data was processed and analyzed using the Chi-square test. From the results of the study, it was found that there was a relationship between ventilation area (p = 0.017; OR = 3.69), type of floor (p = 0.004; OR = 5.06), occupancy density (p = 0.004; OR = 4.79), ownership of holes smoke (p = 0.028; OR = 3.43), maternal habits (p = 0.002; OR = 5.45) with the incidence of ARI in children under five in Dulolong Village. Toddlers who live in houses with wooden/woven walls are 1.18 times more likely to get ARI compared to toddlers who live in houses with brick walls/plaster walls (p = 1,000).

Abstract

Premarital sexual behavior in adolescents is a serious problem in Indonesia. Every year the phenomenon of free sex or premarital sexual behavior by teenagers continues to increase and even adds to the rate of STI transmission and the incidence of HIV/AIDS. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors associated with premarital sexual behavior in late adolescents aged 20-24 years in the Namosain Village. This type of research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional research design. The sample size of this study was 340 late adolescents aged 20-24 years in the Namosain village. The results of this study showed that there was no relationship between knowledge and premarital sexual behavior with a p-value = 0.339 > α = 0.05. There is a relationship between sources of information and premarital sexual behavior with a p-value = 0.004 < α = 0.05. There is a relationship between peers and premarital sexual behavior with a p-value = 0.000 < α = 0.05. There is no relationship between parenting style and premarital sexual behavior with a p-value = 1.000 > α = 0.05. There is a relationship between dating style and premarital sexual behavior with a p-value = 0.000 < α = 0.05. Suggestions for parents can apply democratic parenting to children, so they can build good communication with children.
