Abstract

ABSTRACTCurcuma longa Linn (Kunyit) and Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Nees (Sambiloto) are some examples of plants that grown in Indonesia that provides many health benefits with their isolated coumpound Curcumin and Andrographolide, respectively. However, due to their low water-solubility, low stability, rapid metabolism, poor absorption, and degradation during processing or within the gastrointestinal tract and alkaline conditions therefor reduces its oral bioavailability and consequently decreasing its development as a therapeutic drugs via oral. The advantage of parenteral route of administration including reduced toxicity, improved drug solubility and stability, prolonged circulation time, and enhanced tissue penetration. This review summarizes and discusses published journals on the key development on parenteral delivery system of curcumin and andrographolide as active ingredients. Keywords : Curcumin, Andrographolide, Parenteral ABSTRAKCurcuma longa Linn (Kunyit) dan Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Nees (Sambiloto) adalah beberapa contoh tanaman yang tumbuh di Indonesia yang memberikan banyak manfaat kesehatan dengan senyawa yang terkandung didalamnya seperti Kurkumin dan Andrografolida. Namun karena sifatnya sukar larut dalam air, stabilitas rendah, metabolisme yang cepat, susah diabsorbsi, dan terdegradasi dalam asam lambung dan kondisi alkali, akibatnya menurunkan bioavailabilitas oralnya dan mengurangi manfaatnya. Pemberian secara parenteral adalah rute yang memiliki keuntungan termasuk mengurangi toksisitas, meningkatkan kelarutan obat dan stabilitas, memperpanjang waktu sirskulasi, dan peningkatan penetrasi jaringan. Ulasan ini merangkum dan membahas jurnal pada mengenai pengembangan sistem penghantaran secara parenteral dengan kurkumin dan andrografolida sebagai senyawa aktifnya. Kata Kunci : Kurkumin, Andrografolida, Parenteral

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat stabilitas fisik dari formulasi sediaan krim ekstrak etanol kulit buah pisang Goroho pada konsentrasi 12.5%. Evaluasi sifat fisik meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar dan daya lekat. Uji stabilitas dilakukan menggunakan metode cycling test selama 6 siklus dengan menguji kembali sifat fisiknya. Hasil pengujiann sifat fisik (siklus 0) sediaaan krim yaitu uji organoleptik (bau: khas etanol buah pisang; warna: hijau; tekstur: semi solid), homogenitas (susunan homogen), pH 5.04±0.25, daya sebar 3.43±0.12 cm, daya lekat 30.55±2.09 detik, dan uji stabilitas selama cycling test (siklus 1-siklus 6) tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna.The aim of this research was to determine the physical stability of the cream ethanol extract of Goroho banana peels at a concentration of 12.5%. Evaluation of physical properties includes organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility and adhesion. The stability test was carried out using the cycling test method for 6 cycles by re-testing its physical properties. Test result of physical properties (cycle 0) cream preparation, namely organoleptic test (odor: typical of banana ethanol, color: green, texture: semi-solid), homogeneity (homogeneous arrangement), pH 5.04 ± 0.25, spread capacity 3.43 ± 0.12 cm and power sticky 30.55 ± 0.12 seconds, and the stability test during the cycle test there was no significant difference.

Abstract

Cardiovaskular disease is the number one cause of death in the world, an estimated 17.9 million people die each year. Several risk factors that contribute to the occurrence of heart disease such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, and obesity. Snake Fruit is a fruit that is available in large quantities both in volume and variety. Snake Fruit is rich in antioxidants that can be used to treat hyperlipidemia and overweight. North Sulawesi is one of the centers of Snake Fruit production, especially in the southeast Minahasa area. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of Snake Fruit juice on the lipid profile of hyperlipidemic and obese rats induced by a high-fat diet in the form of used cooking oil, quail egg yolk and 0.01% PTU solution. The study used 5 groups, namely the negative control group was given aquadest, the positive control group was given simvastatin and the treatment group was given Snake Fruit juice with concentrations of 2%, 4% and 8%. The parameters observed in this study were body weight, lipid profile, and glucose profile. blood. The study showed that the administration of Snake Fruit juice had a significant effect on the lipid profile of rats for all parameters on the lipid profile and had a significant effect on weight loss and blood glucose levels where p < 0.05 and there was no significant difference between each treatment group in both lipid profile parameters. , body weight and blood glucose levels.
