Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of job expectations (JE), job satisfaction (JS), and government policy (PG) on work stress (WS), work passion (JEn), and continuance commitment (CC) to honorarium teachers in middle and high school. Data collection was done through questionnaires and analyzed using the SEM approach with the help of the Lisrel 8.80 program. The results of the analysis show that the variables JE, JS, and PG have an influence on WS; and WS has an influence on JEn and CC. Explicitly, the conditions and situations faced by honorary teachers tend to create a desire to find new workplaces. This was also reinforced by the issuance of Government Regulation No. 49/2019 concerning the acceptance of workers with work agreements and prohibits the existence of honorarium status. It is recommended, it is necessary to give priority to honorary teachers by not using work contracts, but by treating them for a certain period of time, then being appointed as permanent (non-ASN) teachers if they are judged to meet their requirements and eligibility.

Abstract

In the history of the development of post-independence Indonesian art, the national award was initiated by Dewan Kesenian Jakarta (The Jakarta Arts Council) through Pameran Besar Seni Lukis Indonesia (PBSLI) or The Great Exhibition of Indonesian Painting in 1974. PBSLI awarded the best work through the judging mechanism. The dynamics occurred after the award gave rise to different perceptions and opinions about how good works of art at the time were. This study examines the impact of PBSLI and Biennale Jakarta, the event’s name was altered in 1982, in terms of artist selection process, judging, social situation, and opinions in the Indonesian arts during 1974-1989. This study uses the qualitative research method with a historical approach. Data were collected through archival research and in-depth interviews. By implementing Artistic Field of Bourdieu, the study demonstrates that the results of PBSLI and Biennale Jakarta bestowed artists a symbolic capital which characterized the taste of arts at that time.

Abstract

Slum areas are often seen in urban spatial policy gaps. The slum area becomes a dilemma, it portrays the unsuccessful management of a city area, on the other hand the reality of the city has the potential to become slum area tourism as an alternative attraction for tourism in urban areas.  Efforts made by stakeholders in terms of city management tend to ignore slum areas as a city reality that has never touched a solution to the problem. Slum areas with social problems require real solutions.  Through tourism in slum areas, residents innovate to represent and interpret their territory to find solutions for themselves. So far, studies on slum area tourism regarding how local residents represent and interpret their territory are still rare. Therefore, this study tries to look at the initiative to practice representation and interpretation of local residents in their area, and how stakeholders represent slum areas in their area through a qualitative study using a city tourism approach. Based on the results of data collection, a description of the situation of slum areas and their communities can practically represent themselve as the reality of the city and present themselve as part of the development of city tourism. By imaging the slum area, local people earn income from interacting with tourists who hope to get a complete experience of the city's tourist destinations they visit. On the other hand, local communities who are involved in the practice of representing slum area tourism indirectly criticize city management by displaying the contrast between slum area residents and tourists through digital media within the framework of local initiatives as a form of development participation.
