Abstract

Learning physics means learning about natural concepts, which essentially explain the collection of knowledge in the form of natural phenomena or phenomena, concepts, principles, laws, theories based on logical thinking in accordance eith supporting facts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Learning Through Approach (CTL) using experimental methods to improve the learning outcomes of student physics in material class XI for static liquids in SMA Negeri 1 Tagulandang. This study was a quasi-experimental study using the posttest control group design. The population in this study consisted of students from class XI IPA with a focus on the odd semester 2019/2020, and the sample in this study was carried out at random. These are all samples of IPI with a focus on the odd semester 2019/2020, which are divided into two classes, namely class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class and class XI IPA 2 as a control class. The data in this study are student learning outcomes after treatment. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. This difference is evident from the average of learning outcomes after testing the experimental class at 80.40 and the control class at 70.16, and learning by approach (CTL) using the experimental method efectif in brimg the learning outcomes of students at Tagulandang State High Improve School 1, especially with static fluid material.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of a virtual laboratory-based practicum module to be used as a mandatory guide for students. So that students find it difficult to understand the concepts of physics related to the photoelectric effect practicum, especially in this pandemic era. This research aims to develop a Virtual Laboratory-Based Photoelectric Effect Practicum Module Using a Discovery Learning Model. This study is a research and development study using the 4D research model adapted from the Thiagarajan model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The results of the study for students got an average value of 82.75%, so that the module was included in the feasible / valid category. And in response 57.35% of students chose very useful (SB), 42.65% of students chose useful (B), and no student chose less useful (KB) and not useful (TB). Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the product has been produced in the form of a photoelectric effect practicum module based on a virtual laboratory using a discovery learning model with good and proper qualifications.

Abstract

Limited laboratory equipment and the current pandemic Covid-19 are the causes of practicum activities not running optimally.to overcome these obstacles, the virtual laboratory can be used as a medium for distance learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using virtttual laboratories as learning media in viscosity experiments. This research is a pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were semester I Students of the Departement of Physics, Manado State University 2020/2021. Retrieval of data using test instruments in the form of essays and science process skills and affective using rubrics. The average preest results were 43,75 and posttest results were 84,38. The average results of the assessment of science process skills are in good criteria (66%-79%) and very good criteria (80%-100%) while affective assessments are very good criteria (80%-100%). For each student, there were 10 students in high N-Gain category with a percentage of 62,5% and 6 students in the moderate N-Gain category with a percentage of 37,5%. The results of the average N-Gain percentage of 16 students was 74,9%. The results of this study indicate that use of a virtual laboratory is quite effective in being used as a learning medium in viscosity experiments.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of students who use the Leaning Cycle 7e model assisted by LKS and also see student learning outcomes using conventional models on the physics subjects of Newton's legal material about motion in SMA Negeri 1 Sambuara. This research is a semi experimental study (quasi experiment) with Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The results showed that students who learned using the Leaning Cycle 7e model assisted by LKS, the average value of learning outcomes was 83.5, while students who learned using the conventional learning model the average value was 77. From these results it can be concluded that the use of the Learning Cycle model 7E assisted LKS is more influential on student learning outcomes than using conventional learning.

Abstract

Learning in nature is a real form of the educational process. Siau Tagulandang Archipelago Regency which is an area of salak plantation forest that is widely cultivated by the community, but this has an impact on the absence of learning activities, especially regarding physics in the area. So, to realize the process of learning activities in the area of salak plants, an expolarative research was carried out with the aim of identifying the ecosystem and the interactions that occurred and analyzing the effect of the frequency of rain on the infiltration rate. That infiltration is the flow of water into the soil through the soil surface. Infiltration (infiltration rate and capacity) is strongly influenced by various variables, including soil type, slope, density and type of vegetation, soil water content, and rainfall intensity. This research is an expolarative research that emphasizes how students can see the facts/phenomenon they see with the concept of physics. The rate of infiltration and the infiltration capacity of the soil decreases in direct proportion to the increase in the frequency of rain, the more the frequency of rain, the smaller the infiltration that occurs at the same level of rain intensity

Abstract

This study aims to provide a clear and comprehensive picture to students of class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 3 Tondano about learning management which includes planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating participatory learning based on project-based learning on pascal’s law material in physics subjects. The method used in this research is mix method with concurrent model which is a combination of two methods, especially qualitative and quantitative. The structure of this research uses qualitative methods while quantitative methods are used to assist qualitative information. The results of this study are starting from the planning stage including the syllabus and lesson plans adapted to the strategy. The next stage is organizing which result in the function and role of management components. The implementation stage is in accordance with the syntax of participatory learning. This implementation stage shows that the implementation of management functions in participatory learning based on project-based learning on pascal’s law physics material for SMA N 3 Tondano class XI IPA 2 students can shape students’ cognitive, affective and psychomotor competencies through making learning projects. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating participatory learning based on project-based learning is well implemented as seen from the cognitive, affective and psychomotor assessment rubrics.

Abstract

Tugas berjenjang adalah tugas perkuliahan yang dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dari semester ke semester melalui berbagai mata kuliah strategis yang didukung mata kuliah lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengevaluasi proses mengembangkan materi pembelajaran fisika menggunakan beberapa buku ajar; (2) mengevaluasi kemampuan, capaian dan hambatan mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan materi pokok bahasan fisika menurut karakteristik materi; dan (3) mengevaluasi persepsi mahasiswa terhadap materi dan kegiatan tugas berjenjang-1. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 68 mahasiswa semester V program studi pendidikan fisika tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik deskriptif dengan desain penelitian menggunakan treatment by subject. Data penelitian diambil dari 4 kelompok mahasiswa yang membahas topik gaya, usaha & energi, impuls & momentum, dan fluida. Berdasarkan persentase menurut kategori variabel dan wawancara, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kelompok mahasiswa dapat mengembangkan materi dari pertemuan awal hingga menghasilkan bahan ajar; (2) kelompok mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam proses mengembangkan materi karena rendahnya pemahaman materi dan kurangnya kerjasama anggota kelompok. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa dapat mengembangkan materi pembelajaran fisika, kurangnya penguasaan kelompok mengenai materi pokok bahasan fisika menurut karakteristik materi, persepsi mahasiswa mengenai materi dan kegiatan tugas berjenjang-1 ini baik karena dapat meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa serta meningkatkan kerjasama antara anggota kelompok.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials for work and energy in the form of modules using an experiential learning model with a contextual approach in improving the learning processes and outcomes of SMA Negeri 2 Tondano students. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Tondano. The research method used is the research and development method by following the stages of Borg and Gall. The development steps are as follows: 1) preliminary study, 2) development study, 3) product testing and model validation. Based on the results of device validation from material experts and media experts, learning tools reached 100% and 95.83%, respectively, so that they were included in the very valid criteria. The results of the student response questionnaire on the display aspect with a percentage of 86%, the presentation aspect of the material is 81%, and the benefits aspect is 84%, and the student learning outcomes based on the average comparison of the pretest and posttest scores respectively are 27.79 and 75.92. So that the development of experiential learning model teaching materials with a contextual approach is quite effective in improving student learning processes and outcomes.

Abstract

North Sulawesi is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has many active volcanoes. Mount Tampusu is an area that has geothermal prospects characterized by geothermal manifestations on the surface, namely hot springs that can contribute to or influence the surrounding rocks making altered rocks within the scope of hot spring manifestations. This study aims to identify the mineral composition and type of alteration rock in the geothermal manifestation area around Mount Tampusu at the study site using SEM-EDX and FTIR methods to determine hydrothermal minerals present in these rocks. The results showed that the mineral composition of altered rock mineral in the geothermal manifestation in Tampusu Village, Remboken District had almost the same content between the rocks in the eyes of the hot springs (where the water came out) and those that were a few meters away from the manifestation, namely Al (Aluminum), Si ( Silica), S (Suklur). With the difference in elemental content, sample 2 has the addition of Al (Aluminum), Si (Silica), MoL (Molybdenum), K (Potassium), Fe (Ferum). And the types of altered rock minerals around the hot spring manifestations in rock samples 1 and 2 are Quartz, Montmonillonitre, Albite, Kaolinite, Gibbsite and Paligorskile.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has the largest geothermal resources in the world which is directly proportional to the number of volcanoes. Indonesia is an archipelagic country located at three junction of active mountain plates, namely the Eurasia, Indo-Australia and Pacific plates. Where Indonesia is also located in an active ring of fire that is associated with active volcanoes in Indonesia. North Sulawesi is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has several active volcanoes, one of which is the object of research is Mount Soputan. This volcano is located in South Minahasa and Southeast Minahasa Districts, North Sulawesi Province. The method used in this research is descriptive method and analysis of geothermal fluid chemical data. Analysis of the ion content in the fluid using a SpectroDirect Photometer. As well as functional group analysis using the FTIR Spectroscopy method (Fourier Transform Infra Red), this method is an infrared spectroscopy method equipped with Fourier transform for its spectrum analysis. Geothermal manifestation fluid in the Old Crater of Mount Soputan Volcano is a bicarbonate type of fluid with an HCO3 content of 479 ppm. The high HCO3 content is thought to be associated with the increase in geothermal fluids containing gas, especially CO2, which then experiences condensation in shallow aquifers.
