Abstract

The research aims to determine the improvement of mastery of dynamic fluid material by using a research-based learning model for students, class XI IPA-2 SMA Kristen 1 Amahai. This type of research is a descriptive study with a one-group pretest-postest research design, in 19 students as a research sample obtained using the Purposive Sampling technique. The data of this study were collected using test and non-test instruments (LKPD) and then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that in the initial test 100% of students were in a failed qualification with an average score of 11.00. The results of the analysis of cognitive abilities of students during the learning process showed that the average score of students was 88.4 with good qualifications and the average score of the final test achievement of students was 81.5 which was in good qualifications. The average result of the N-gain test of learners was 0.79 at high qualifications. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in mastery of the material after students are taught using a research-based learning model

Abstract

The development of the 21st century is marked as the century of openness or the century of globalization, meaning that human life in the 21st century has undergone fundamental changes that are different from the order of life and characteristics in the previous century. The purpose of this service activity is to implicate the Learning Concept and Characteristics of 21st Century Students, as facilitating learning. The methods used in this service include lectures, practices, and discussions. There are several stages in this service activity, namely coordination, and analysis of needs, preparation of materials and activities, training, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as data analysis and reports. The results of this service show an increase in the understanding of teachers after participating in the socialization of Learning Concepts and Characteristics of 21st Century Students, with an average understanding categorized as very good. This Community Service Activity (PKM) assists teachers in designing learning that is interesting and according to the needs of students in the 21st century, so that teachers can become more aware of the importance of the characteristics of students in the 21st century. It is hoped that the results of this community service can become a reference for other educational institutions as well as teachers are also more familiar with the needs of educators.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using PhET as a medium for learning physics to increase mastery of inert fluid material for students in class X State High School 4 spooky eastern part. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative with a research design that is a one-group pretest and posttest. This research was conducted with a population of students of class X IPA at SMA Negeri 4 SBT. The sample of class X IPA-1 was 21 students who were taken at random. The data in this study were collected through test and non-test instruments, test instruments in the form of pretest and posttest, and non-test test instruments in the form of student worksheets (LKPD). The results showed that in the initial test, 100% of students failed the qualification, with an average achievement score of 7.83. The maximum achievement score is 25.8, while the minimum is 1.72. The results of the analysis of cognitive aspects during the learning process using PhET as a learning medium showed that the average student achievement score was 92.23, which was an excellent qualification. These results are collected based on completing the questions in the LKPD. The ability of students to learn shows a change. The average score of the student's final test achievement reached 91.17, which was an excellent qualification. For the N-Gain test, results obtained 0.8, which is in the high category. In the effectiveness test that the results of the calculation of the t-count 48.45 and t-table 2.080 with a significant level of 5%, the t-count value is 48.45 > t-table 2,080 where 21 students (100%) are declared effective. Thus it can be concluded that the use of PhET as a practical physics learning media to improve students' mastery of static fluid material class X State High School 4 SBT
