Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the socio-economic status of cattle breeders, the contribution of cattle breeding businesses to family income and the factors that influence contribution. The method for determining the sample villages was by purposive sampling based on the largest population of cattle. A total of 60 farmer respondents were taken based on the criteria of having kept cattle for at least 3 years and had carried out marketing. Descriptive data analysis, economic calculation, income contribution and multiple regression analysis to see the factors that influence the contribution of beef cattle business income. The results showed that the breeders were still of productive age, some of them had their main livelihood as cattle breeders, good education level: from middle to high school, minimal non-formal education, raised cattle with the aim of increasing income and savings, the average cattle ownership was 3.58 ±2.10 tails (household scale), traditionally reared without cages for >5 years. The income contribution from the cattle business is 72.02% (business branch). The income contribution from the cattle business is significantly influenced by cattle ownership and other income.INTISARITujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji status sosial ekonomi peternak sapi,  kontribusi usaha  peternak sapi terhadap pendapatan keluarga dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kontribusi. Metode penentuan desa sampel secara puposive sampling berdasarkan populasi sapi terbanyak. Sebanyak 60 responden peternak diambil berdasarkan kriteria telah memelihara sapi minimal 3 tahun dan telah melakukan pemasaran. Analisis data secara deskriptif, perhitungan ekonomi, kontribusi pendapatan dan analisis regresi berganda untuk melihat faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kontribusi pendapatan usaha sapi potong. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peternak masih berusia produksi, sebagian bermata pencaharian pokok sebagai peternak sapi, tingkat pendidikan baik: dari menengah sampai atas, minim pendidikan non formal, memelihara ternak sapi dengan tujuan menambah pendapatan dan tabungan, rata-rata kepemlikan ternak sapi 3,58±2,10 ekor (skala rumah tangga), yang dipelihara secara tradisional tanpa kandang dengan lama pemeliharaan >5 tahun. Kontribusi pendapatan dari usaha ternak sapi sebesar 72,02% (cabang usaha). Kontribusi pendapatan dari usaha ternak sapi secara signifikan dipengaruhi oleh kepemilikan ternak sapi dan pendapatan lainnya.
