Abstract

Abstract

Statistical pattern recognition is a system that aims to classify a number of objects to a number of categories or classes. Given a data matrix A, A = {Π1, Π2,…, Πk} where Πi consist of ni point data of ith class then patterns in each classes can classify and separate distance of within and between-class in datasets. In this paper, Symmetric Two-Dimensional Linear Discriminant Analysis proposed to maximize the between-class scatter matrices (Sb) and minimize the within-class scatter matrices (Sw), and can recognition the symmetric capital letter by hand writing such as A, B, C, D, E, H, I, K, M, O, S, U, V, W and Y by using ADL2-D algorithm.

Abstract

Transmission of infectious diseases in epidemiological models is usually based on the assumption that populations in random mixing. However, in reality this assumption is not fulfilled, because each individual has a limited set of contacts that they can pass through infection; the ensemble of all such contacts forms a complex network. Knowledge of network structure allows a model to calculate the dynamics of an epidemic at a population scale from individual level infection behavior. This paper discusses mathematical models to illustrate the epidemic pattern of transmission of infectious diseases in dynamic networks based on compartment systems.

Abstract

Mathematics as a vehicle for education has the purpose of educating students, forming the personality of students, and developing certain skills so that they can direct students to learning values in life through mathematics. One of the fundamental problems in education in Indonesia is the lack of students who can understand mathematical concepts well. One method that promises to reduce this problem is the group project method.

Abstract

In best selection process such as best student, best employee, best destination, etc. need an effective method so it may have the best object in output. Criteria on each process consist of among qualitative variable and numeric variable. In fact, to make a decision we cant use our feeling but should use science method. In our research we offer integrated AHP (Analytical Hierarchical Process) and Fuzzy-Promethee to solve the selection process that has among categorical variable. The result show algorithm from integrated AHP and Fuzzy-Promethee.

Abstract

This paper aimed to basic mathematical skills based to the studying approach. To this subject pre detection is a need. One way ANOVA analyzing will show the significant of basic mathematical skill of students by giving different studying approach. Hence, there is correlation within basic mathematical skill to studying approach. Teachers should be able measure basic mathematical by designing model supporting understanding level, critical thinking ability made concept. The sample consisted of all the second semester of mathematical students by random sampling. Approaches and Study Skills Inventory for Students (ASSIST) is used to studying approach, Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) is used to create group classification. Two Step Cluster Analysis Method divided into three approaches (Strategies, Surface, Deep)

Abstract

Abstract Facial expression recognition is one of the challenging tasks in computervision. In this paper, we analyzed and improved the performances bothhandcrafted features and deep features extracted by Convolutional NeuralNetwork (CNN). Eigenfaces, HOG, Dense-SIFT were used as handcrafted features.Additionally, we developed features based on the distances between faciallandmarks and SIFT descriptors around the centroids of the facial landmarks, leading to a better performance than Dense-SIFT. We achieved 68.34 % accuracywith a CNN model trained from scratch. By combining CNN features withhandcrafted features, we achieved 69.54 % test accuracy.Key Word: Neural network, facial expression recognition, handcrafted features

Abstract

Poverty is a person's inability to fulfill the aspects of life. To overcome the problem of poverty, there are some factors which affect the poverty levels that need to be considered. The factors that influence the poverty levels are economic growth, unemployment, and education. Poverty in each region has different characteristics, and therefore it is necessary to group the regions so that the solutions can be implemented in accordance with each of the characteristics of the region. The purpose of this study is to cluster districts/cities in North Sumatra in accordance with the factors that affect poverty levels in each region using cluster analysis based on the centroid linkage method. Cluster analysis is a grouping into clusters so that objects in a cluster are more similar to each other than the objects in other clusters. From the clustering result of cluster analysis by using the centroid linkage method shows that there are four groups of districts/cities which are incorporated based on each factor that affects poverty levels, namely, economic growth, unemployment, and education.

Abstract

Robust regression is a regression method used when the remainder's distribution is not reasonable, or there is an outreach to observational data that affects the model. One method for estimating regression parameters is the Least Squares Method (MKT). The method is easily affected by the presence of outliers. Therefore we need an alternative method that is robust to the presence of outliers, namely robust regression. Methods for estimating robust regression parameters include Least Trimmed Square (LTS) and Least Median Square (LMS). These methods are estimators with high breakdown points for outlier observational data and have more efficient algorithms than other estimation methods. This study aims to compare the regression models formed from the LTS and LMS methods, determine the efficiency of the model formed, and determine the factors that influence the production of community oil palm in Langkat District in 2018. The results showed that in testing, the estimated model of the regression parameters showed the same results. Compared to the efficiency estimator and the error square value, it was concluded that the LTS method was more efficient. Variable land area and productivity influence the production of palm oil smallholders in Langkat District in 2018. as well as the comparison of the efficiency estimator and the error square value, it was concluded that the LTS method was more efficient.
