Abstract

Tilik is a Javanese short film that became a hot topic of conversation after its appearance on the YouTube channel. Tilik emphasizes a certain gender in each scene. As a result, Tilik is seen as perpetuating certain gender stereotypes. The researcher tries to find the meaning behind the gender used as the main character. With wider possibilities for meaning, the researcher also tries to find a deeper meaning that can be found in the Tilik film. Regarding the research objectives, this article poses the following problems: (1) Does Tilik Film perpetuate the stereotype of women? (2) What does the film say about its message? (3) What does the existence of the "truck" say about its function as a container of experience? The object of research is the context of the scenario, images, text, and scenes in the film. This article uses Roland Barthes's qualitative semiotics method. The results of this study indicate that Tilik does not perpetuate gender stereotypes by highlighting a particular gender. On the other hand, Tilik expresses the meaning of social relations in society, struggles in daily life, and the importance of digital literacy as a provision to participate in everyday life by using a certain gender.

Abstract

Indonesia has thousands of local wisdom. One of them is the Mbaru Gendang. Mbaru Gendang is the cultural house of the Manggarai community. The Mbaru Gendang has a beautiful Indonesian philosophy. Therefore, the focus of this paper is to explore the philosophy of the Mbaru Gendang as a characteristic and purpose of life for the Manggarai Community. This paper aims to explore the philosophy of the symbols, functions and forms of the Mbaru Gendang. The author uses the method of observation and literature study. This study found that the shape and symbol of the Mbaru Gendang hold very strong cultural and philosophical values. This paper contributes to the high philosophical values in the Mbaru Gendang as a reference and purpose of life for the Manggarai people. In addition, this paper is an attempt to explore the Mbaru Gendang as a characteristic and main value of Manggarai culture.

Abstract

Fokus penelitiaan ini mendeteksi nilai-nilai iman katolik dan kontribusinya sebagai warga negara. Berbicara tentang warga negara, halnya tidak terlepas dari Pancasila. Butir-butir iman yang diyakini oleh umat Katolik sesungguhnya terdapat juga dalam Pancasila walaupun tidak dinyatakan secara langsung. Hal ini dapat menjadi sebuah petunjuk bahwa apa yang diimani oleh Gereja Katolik sejajar dengan nilai-nilai yang diamanatkan oleh Pancasila. Dalam mengurai ciri keindonesiaan dari Gereja katolik, penulis menggunakan metode analisis kepustakaan dengan menelusuri literatur-literatur tentang iman Gereja Katolik karena itu, Gereja Katolik Indonesia sangat menjunjung tinggi Pancasila Pengamalan dengan selalu berusaha mengamalkan nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya. dan Pancasila. Adapun temuannya adalah keyakinan iman umat Katolik sungguh-sungguh dinyatakan secara implisit dalam Pancasila. Pancasila adalah pedoman etis bagi setiap orang di Indonesia, termasuk orang-orang Katolik, demi keselamatan jasmani dan rohaninya. Oleh nilai-nilai Pancasila menjadi salah satu jalan agar penghayatan iman yang baik dapat terlaksana sekaligus menunjukkan sifat keindonesiaan Gereja Katolik.

Abstract

The coronavirus pandemic and advances in communication technology are new realities that the Church today has to face. These changes greatly affected the task of preaching and the effort to pass on the faith and values ​​of the gospel to young people. This paper aims to overview today's Catholic youth and their reality of contributing to the Church's evangelization work to young people. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with questionnaires and descriptive analysis methods. The author finds that proclaiming the faith to young people through youth community activities such as Orang Muda Katolik and social media is very contextual to the lives of young people. Through youth activities, faith is conveyed in a way that follows the teachings of the Church and is contextual to the active lives of young people. The Church also strongly supports the proclamation of the faith through media as social media as a new way of evangelization. Social media is part of the lives of today's Catholic youth. Religious people also contribute to the spread of Christian values ​​through social media for young people.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini peneliti berfokus pada pembahasan tentang penghayatan iman sebagai kekuatan hidup bersama umat kristiani dalam lingkung Santo Agustinus Paroki Ratu Rosari Kesatrian Malang. Peneliti berpendapat bahwa umat lingkungan Santo Agustinus telah mengerti dengan baik tentang penghayatan iman sesungguhnya yang dapat membawa semua orang pada suatu keselamatan. Setiap orang yang mempunyai relasi yang dekat dengan Tuhan tentu bisa menghayati imannya dengan baik. Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian subjek dalam melihat respons dari para subjek yang benar-benar membawa setiap orang untuk semakin mendalam dalam menghayati imannya. Melalui iman yang teguh seseorang bisa sampai pada puncak kebahagiaan. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis menyetujui apa yang disampaikan subjek bahwa untuk sampai pada penghayatan iman yang teguh, seseorang harus berani berkorban dan mengalami berbagai macam tantangan dan rintangan. Di dalam diri setiap orang tentu saja sudah ditanamkan suatu penghayatan iman yang teguh oleh sang pemberi kehidupan itu, yakni Yesus Kristus. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa tanpa adanya penghayatan iman yang teguh seseorang tidak bisa sampai pada penghayatan iman yang lebih mendalam akan kebenaran yang sesungguhnya.

Abstract

Pandemi covid-19 telah memengaruhi semua pola hidup dan kegiatan manusia, termasuk kegiatan keagamaan atau peribadatan. Kegiatan keagamaan atau peribadatan ditengah pandemi covid-19 ini diadakan secara online, baik melalui zoom maupun live streaming youtube. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah mengali pengalaman iman umat Katolik dalam mengikuti perayaan Ekaristi secara online berdasarkan pengaruh pemahaman mereka tentang perayaan Ekaristi secara online terhadap penghayatan Ekaristi secara online di masa pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi yang bersifat kualitatif. Yang menjadi responden dari penelitian ini adalah umat Katolik yang berada di Keuskupan Malang. Adapun yang menjadi tujuan penulisan adalah sebagai bahan evaluasi terhadap pelaksanan perayaan Ekaristi secara online dan untuk menemukan saran atau rekomendasi yang tepat.

Abstract

Religious teachings are an urgent part of education to shape one's character and morals. In the digital era, multimedia is utilized as an effective tool to enhance the quality of teaching and make learning more engaging. This article aims to discuss the implementation of multimedia as a teaching aid in religious teaching in the digital age. The research method used is literature study by collecting data from relevant and up-to-date literature. Through a literature study, the author introduces the concept of multimedia and its benefits in teaching religious. In the context of multimedia in religious education, researchers employ content analysis to examine and interpret the content of multimedia materials used in teaching. This analysis involve identifying recurring themes, analyzing the alignment of multimedia content with religious teachings, and evaluating the effectiveness of multimedia elements (e.g., visuals, audio, interactivity) in conveying religious concepts. The results indicate that multimedia can enhance the teacher teaching process and improve the learning experience for participants. However, the use of multimedia in catechesis also presents challenges, such as technical issues and excessive usage. The author suggests a selective and thoughtful approach when utilizing multimedia in catechesis. This article is helpful for religious educators and catechists in understanding the significance of multimedia use in religious education in the digital age and implementing it effectively. In conclusion, this article emphasizes the imperative role of spiritual teachings in education for shaping individuals' character and morals, underscoring the significance of prudently integrating multimedia technology within religious learning.

Abstract

This study aims to delve into and explore the meaning of the epiphany of the other's face in the context of sexual violence against women, utilizing Emmanuel Levinas' philosophy as the primary theoretical foundation. The research will investigate how Levinas' concept of the epiphany of the face can offer new insights and provide a profound understanding of the phenomenon of sexual violence against women. Employing a Literature Review method with a qualitative approach, this study aims to examine Levinas' concept of the face and apply it to the reality of sexual violence against women. Levinas underscores the importance of ethics as the basis for human relationships, particularly through the concept of the face as the gateway to understanding the uniqueness and dignity of each individual. Building on this issue, the author finds that the epiphany of the other's face can provide deeper insights into the uniqueness of women who are victims of sexual violence, emphasizing the ethical responsibility to actively engage in protecting and defending victims of sexual violence. Furthermore, the significance of subjective involvement and responsibility highlights the need for personal engagement in humanitarian relationships. The phenomenon of sexual violence against women paints a troubling picture of the existence of a woman's face. The presence of the other's face (women) that should be considered as the encounter between the "Self" and the "Other" has been reduced to an object of violent actions.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the nature of poverty according to Montfort and its relevance to the lives of Catholic communities in Indonesia. Poverty is often associated with living in discomfort, injustice, unhappiness, a life of scarcity, and a lack of material wealth to meet one's needs. This common paradigm needs to be examined more deeply using the surgical tool of the nature or spirituality of poverty according to Montfort. The research employs a literature review methodology. The study reveals that Montfort's spirituality of poverty highlights the ability to fulfill responsibilities and live responsibly, especially by engaging with others and paying attention to the needs of many, particularly those who are poor and marginalized. The use of material wealth is emphasized not for worldly pleasures but as a necessary means to support life. The relevance of Montfort's teachings in the context of how Catholics in Indonesia experience their religious life can be seen in three essential attitudes. Firstly, poverty is considered a means to attain holiness. Secondly, poverty is viewed as an effort in service and solidarity. Thirdly, poverty is seen as a means to guide the community towards the virtues of spiritual life. Keywords: God; Catholic church; poverty; humanit; MontfortAbstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi hakikat kemiskinan menurut Montfort dan relevansinya bagi kehidupan umat Katolik Indonesia. Kemiskinan kerapkali diidentikkan dengan hidup dalam ketidakadilan, ketidakbahagiaan, hidup yang serba kekurangan, serta hidup yang tidak berharta (hartanya tidak mencukupi kebutuhannya). Paradigma umum ini perlu dikaji lebih dalam dengan menggunakan pisau bedah hakikat atau spiritualitas kemiskinan menurut Montfort. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa spiritualitas kemiskinan menurut Montfort menunjukkan kesanggupan untuk menjalankan tugas dan hidup secara bertanggung jawab, terlebih terpanggil untuk terlibat dalam hidup dengan orang lain serta menaruh perhatian kepada kebutuhan banyak orang, khususnya bagi mereka yang miskin dan terlantar serta dalam penggunaan harta benda bukan untuk menjadi kesenangan duniawi melainkan diperlukan untuk menunjang hidup. Relevansi ajaran Montfort dalam konteks bagaimana umat Katolik di Indonesia menghayati kehidupan agamanya dapat dilihat dalam tiga sikap penting. Pertama, kemiskinan merupakan sarana menuju kekudusan. Kedua, kemiskinan adalah upaya pelayanan dan solidaritas. Abstract

This literature review explores the transformative integration of technology in faith formation, particularly in catechesis. The shift toward digital platforms prompts a reevaluation of engaging modern learners. This article uncovers technology's advantages and challenges in catechetical contexts by assessing existing literature. Technology enables novel approaches to religious instruction, enhancing learner engagement and comprehension. Interactive tools, online resources, and multimedia enrich accessibility. However, concerns encompass potential superficiality, disruption, and traditional value retention. A balanced method emerges through synthesis, combining proven pedagogies with suitable technology for optimal outcomes. The review highlights the significance of a discerning and empathetic integration of technology in catechesis, fostering genuine spiritual growth within today's technology-immersed generation.
