Abstract

ABSTRACT   Charcoal briquettes is solid alternative fuel for oil. This research aimed to evaluate charcoal product from three types of carbonization kiln that used nutmeg shell waste and examine the process of making charcoal briquettes from nutmeg shell waste. The observed characteristics of charcoal briquettes from nutmeg shell waste were  calories value, ash content, and water content. The benefit of this research was producing alternative fuels from renewable agricultural waste into economically valuable products as wells as reducing environmental pollution. This product was charcoal briquettes that could be used for household requirement, small food and beverage industry and canteen.  Key Words: Charcoal Briquet, Nutmeg shell, Carbonization kiln

Abstract

ABSTRACT Bone Bolango district of Gorontalo province is well developed in agriculture. There are three dams in this province and one of them is Lomaya dam. This dam has not yet used technology of geographic information system for evaluating the efficiency of water distribution in the irrigated area. Therefore the measurement of water discharge and the information of spatial irrigated areas are required. The inflow and outflow discharges were measured in each irrigated channel using a bottle buoy. The result of the research showed that the efficiencies of primary, secondary and tertiary channels were 82,25 %, 78,58 % and 77,99 % respectively. The total efficiency of water distribution of irrigated area in Lomaya was 50,41 %. Geographic information system in these irrigated area of Lomaya served the map of irrigated area. Keywords: Efficiency, Irrigation, Geographic Information System, Dam Lomaya

Abstract

ABSTRACT Talawaan dam, North Minahasa Regenc that was built in 1912, was planned to irrigate 1037 ha paddy field covering five villages, i.e. “Desa Kolongan”, “Desa Talawaan”, “Desa Tumbohon”, “Desa Winetin”. The objective of this research was to inform the physical condition of irrigation network system in Talawaan Dam. This research was conduced from November 2014 - Februari 2015 (4 Months). The data was collected usong survey method, float measurements. The result showed that the irrigation network system in this dam was not appropriate with the planned scheme based on the number of (water structures) and irrigated field area. In addition, there was water loss because of overflowing and leakage in the irrigation network.   Keywords :Talawaan Dam , Irrigation Â
