Abstract

Learning that is less than optimal and less meaningful can lead to low student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to improve learning outcomes by applying the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model in the subject matter of obligations and rights in the context of learning for third grade students in elementary schools. This type of research was classroom action research which consisted of two cycles of action. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects in this study were all class III students of SDN Lowokwaru 3 Malang City with a total of 25 students. The research data techniques used in this study are observation, documentation, and test techniques. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive quantitative. Based on the results of the study, it showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The class average score of student learning outcomes during pre-cycle was 60.53 with a complete percentage of 24%, then in cycle I there was an increase to 75.73 with a complete percentage of 60%, then increased in cycle II of 85.07 with a complete percentage of 92%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of class III students at SDN Lowokwaru 3 Malang City using the PBL learning model have increased.
