Abstract

Transfusi darah merupakan pelayanan kesehatan yang sangat penting karena dapat menyelamatkan jiwa pasien. Pemberian transfusi darah memiliki resiko penularan penyakit infeksi menular lewat transfusi darah. Banyak orang yang beranggapan bahwa dirinya sehat saat ini dapat menjadi donor darah yang potensial, walaupun demikian penyakit yang baru saja sembuh atau penyakit di masa lalu dapat membatalkan pendonoran. Beberapa penyakit menular lewat transfusi darah yaitu Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS), Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Sifilis, dan Malaria. Salah satu upaya pengurangan penularan yaitu dengan melakukan uji saring dengan berbagai metode. Penyluhan ini dilakukan dengana metode ceramah di Lingkungan Pattitangngang, Kelurahan Takalar, Kecamatan Mappakasunggu, Kabupaten Takalar, Sulawesi Selatan. Hasil penyuluhan yang dihadiri sebanyak 29 orang dan diperoleh bahwa kebanyakan masyarakat tidak mengetahui salah satu resiko dari transfusi darah yaitu dapat menularkan penyakit. Kesimpulan yang dapat diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang infeksi menular lewat transfusi dara (IMLTD).

Abstract

Selection criteria for donors are important to know before conducting blood donation activities. The purpose of this research is to describe the level of basic knowledge of donor selection criteria among students at Megarezky Makassar campus. This research is a descriptive study aimed at describing the percentage of basic knowledge of blood donor selection criteria among students at Megarezky campus. Data were obtained through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The research was conducted in June 2024. The sample size in this research was 65 students from Megarezky Health Polytechnic and Megarezky University. The data were analyzed using SPSS data processing application. Descriptive analysis results from the 65 student respondents in this research show that the majority were female, 46 (70.8%), while the males were 19 (29.2%). The donor selection criteria include age, blood type, and knowledge level. Regarding the distribution of students' knowledge levels related to donor selection criteria, all respondents had good knowledge. Knowledge can be influenced by two factors: internal factors such as education level, occupation, and age, and external factors such as environment and culture. Future research should conduct further studies to understand the knowledge about blood donation and the interest in donating among students.

Abstract

Blood donation is the process of voluntarily taking blood from someone which is stored in a blood bank for blood transfusion purposes, known as blood donation. Blood donation is an activity that really helps not only yourself but also everyone who needs it. The aim of implementing this PKM is to provide education to the public through leaflets containing information on the importance of blood donation so that the public knows the benefits of donating for themselves and others. In addition, it is very important to inform the public about the health benefits offered by blood donation so that the public is more open to voluntary blood donation. This activity was attended by 30 people from the Kunjung Mae neighborhood, Takalar Village, Mappakasunggu District, Takalar Regency. The results of this activity show that knowledge of blood donation has increased so that people in the Kunjung Mae neighborhood can participate in helping meet the need for blood in Indonesia.
