Abstract

ABSTRAK Polycarbonate (PC) adalah jenis plastik yang umum digunakan oleh masyarakat. Salah satu jenis plastik polikarbonat digunakan untuk mendaur ulang wadah galon berlabel kode plastik nomor 7. Bisphenol-A (BPA) dan fosgen (karbonil diklorida/COCl2) bercampur untuk membuat polikarbonat, zat sintetis. Galon mengalami pemanasan dengan terkena paparan matahari yang memungkinkan mengaktifkan zat BPA yang terkandung di dalam kemasan galon yang dapat menyebabkan bisphenol-A bermigrasi kedalam air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis migrasi perbandingan kandungan bisphenol-A (BPA) pada kemasan galon merek produk nasional dan merek produk lokal label polikarbonat (PC) yang beredar di wilayah kota Makassar dengan metode analisis spektrofotometri ultraviolet (UV). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sampel galon baru sebagai kontrol yang disimpan dalam ruangan (sample A) dan yang dijemur dibawah sinar matahari selama 7 hari (sample B) tidak mengandung bisphenol-A. Sampel galon merek produk nasional (sampel C) yang dilakukan pengujian duplo mengandung bisphenol-A masing-masing C1 0.030 ppm dan C2 0.031 ppm, dan galon produk lokal (sampel D) D1 0.043 ppm dan D2 0.044 ppm. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa galon polikarbonat berkode plastik no.7 yang beredar di pasaran wilayah makassar baik produk lokal maupun produk nasional mengandung bisphenol-A tapi masih memenuhi batas maksimal 0.6 ppm berdasarkan persyaratan Peraturan BPOM No HK.03.1.23.07.11.6664 sehingga aman untuk digunakan. Kata kunci: Galon; Polikarbonat, Bisphenol-A, AMDK ABSTRACT Polycarbonate (PC) is a common kind of plastic used by the public. One kind of polycarbonate plastic is utilized for recycling gallon containers labeled with the number 7 plastic code. Bisphenol-A (BPA) and phosgene (carbonyl dichloride/COCl2) mix to create polycarbonate, a synthetic substance. The heating that occurs when a gallon is exposed to sunlight allows the bisphenol-A (BPA) substance that is present there to be activated, which can then cause bisphenol-A (BPA) to migrate into the water. This study uses an ultraviolet (UV) spectrophotometric analysis method to examine the migration of bisphenol-A (BPA) content in gallon packaging with polycarbonate (PC) labels that are being used by national and local product brands in the Makassar city area. As a control, the new gallon sample that was stored indoors (sample A) and dried outdoors for seven days (sample B) was found to be free of bisphenol-A (BPA), according to the results. Duplo testing was done on the gallon sample of the national product brand (sample C), and the results showed that sample C1 contained 0.030 ppm of bisphenol-A (BPA) and sample C2 contained 0.031 ppm. Duplo testing was done on the gallon sample of the local product brand (sample D), and the results showed that sample D1 contained 0.043 ppm of bisphenol-A (BPA) and sample D2 contained 0.044 ppm. The conclusion from the results of this study is that gallons of polycarbonate with plastic code no.7 circulating in the Makassar area, both products with local and national brands, contain bisphenol-A (BPA). However, it still meets the maximum limit of 0.6 ppm from the Regulation of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) No. HK.03.1.23.07.11.6664, so it is safe to use.
