Abstract

Aerodynamic characteristics are a very important thing in the field of aerodynamic application science which is intended to obtain maximum performance from an object shape. This analysis was carried out to determine the effect of fluid flow velocity on symmetrical model aircraft wings. In this research, analysis of aerodynamic characteristics was carried out by testing an object in the form of a symmetrical model of an airplane wing that was supplied with air using a Wind Tunnel and Smoke Tunnel, so that the comparison and air flow produced could be seen. In connection with this, it is certain that we will not be separated from the topic of aerodynamics which is closely related to the characteristics of the object when flying in the air, which in the end will be able to draw conclusions regarding the aerodynamic characteristics of the object. In this final assignment, what will be discussed further are the aerodynamic parameters which in the world of aviation we usually know as the lift coefficient and also the drag coefficient. The method used is the simulation analysis method. The simulation was carried out by making a symmetrical aircraft wing model, then testing it using the Wind Tunnel and Smoke Tunnel tools. The purpose of this analysis is to determine the pressure characteristics of fluid flow on a symmetrical aircraft wing with a speed of 20 m/s and variations in angle of attack ranging from -20°, -10°, 0°, 10°, and 20° to the lift coefficient and drag coefficient and to determine the effect on each wing of a symmetrical model aircraft given speeds ranging from 12 m/s, 16 m/s, and 20 m/s which are fed by air in a wind tunnel using the drag coefficient and lift coefficient methods.

Abstract

This research is about analysis physical and mechanical character of Truck Unimog disc brake after heated with 2000C. The purpose is considerate for TNI-AD leader specifically for squad the apply and use to overcome the weakness of disc brake. Weighing 7,5 tons, Unimog mobility is fairly high, this truck with 60000 cc capacity engine can through the field very well as towing cannons truck and have reliable power to through altitude and rugged terrain. Common cause frequent fractures until crooked of disc brake part there at time the truck doing mobility with fast and long through time, and when hit by hard object in the field of Indonesia have many rocky terrain, hills, hard soil structure, as well as weakness material of that disc brake. Therefore at the Unimog truck disc brake it will be tested about microstructure, disc brake material composition and hardness. Be based the result of disc brake, evenly this material having hardness value before heated is about 236, 213 kg/mm2 and after heated is 275, 318 kg/mm2 where more and more result has gotten, and then more and more hardness too that material. And in this test a steel disc brake after heating 2000C has a greater value in comparing pre-heated it is clear that the steel brake disc is resistant to heat and friction. so that the future does not happen again broke or bent the brake disc so that it is not an accident or accident that occurred at the time of mobility and the driver can easily operate these vehicles is that the brake disc can work well then the user not to place excessive heat later also necessary maintenance and routine and periodic maintenance of the braking system, especially on the brake lining and brake disc so as to prevent damage to both the brake disc itself or on the vehicle.

Abstract

Iron precious metals have been used since antiquity, although those with lower melting points, which were used earlier in human history, pure iron are relatively softer but cannot be obtained through smelting. This material hardens and is significantly strengthened by carbon impurities, especially in the smelting process. With a certain proportion of carbon (between 0.002% and 2.1%) it will produce harder steel than pure iron which may reach 1000 times. Iron compounds have many benefits in daily life. Iron has a very high economic value so many people make iron as a business land. Most of the usefulness of iron is in the world of construction. Many material elements are used in the world of iron-based construction because the strength of the modified iron is more beneficial and useful. This is because the cast properties of this alloy are classified as good, in addition to corrosion resistance and easy to process machines, alloy types this is widely used in the automotive industry object used is the LGX Toyota kijang alloy wheels. In this study, to obtain data, several tests were carried out, namely Heat Treatment, Quenching, Aneling, composition testing, and tensile testing. The results showed that the effect of heat treatment and quenching on iron alloy specimens was the increase in the value of hardness and tensile strength values, when compared with non-heat treatment specimens. While the strength of the pulses is not measurable because the specimens are too brittle .
