Abstract

The prevalence of stunting children in Indonesia is in the high category because based on the 2018 Riskesdas, nationally the prevalence of stunting is 30.8%. (Riskesdas, 2018). Although the incidence of stunting has decreased, according to WHO the percentage is generally still relatively high. The Mother Smart Grounding (MSG) program has the advantage of being a program that focuses on prevention efforts not only for a special group of 1000 HPK, but more for mothers to prepare for their children's growth and development from an early age. In research, moringa can be modified into a variety of healthy snack foods that contain the nutritional needs of both micro and macro nutrients needed for the growth of all groups, especially in toddlers and pregnant women. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the knowledge of pregnant women through the mother smart grounding (MSG) program in an effort to prevent stunting at the Anisa Tabing Padang Clinic in 2019. The results of the community service conducted at the Anisa Clinic showed that 66.67% of mothers' knowledge was in the good category regarding the nutrition of pregnant women, stunting, and the benefits of Moringa leaves for pregnant women. It is hoped that pregnant women can take advantage of Moringa leaves and can consume them as additional food as an effort to prevent stunting in children.

Abstract

Stunting adalah kondisi gagal tumbuh pada anak balita (bayi dibawah usia 5 tahun) akibat dari kekurangan gizi kronis sehingga anak terlalu pendek. Berdasarkan data dari Dinas Kesehatan Kota Padang tahun 2021 kasus stunting tertinggi di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Rawang Barat Kecamatan Padang Selatan Kota Padang yaitu berada di Kelurahan Mata Air sebanyak 89 orang. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat adalah untuk mencegah stunting adalah memanfaatkan ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa Oleifera) pada pudding sebagai makanan tambahan bagi balita. Metode yang dilakukan melalui penyuluhan pada ibu tentang stunting dan pemberian pudding daun kelor pada anak balita dan ibu serta pengisian kuesioner secara langsung sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan untuk mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan yang dilakukan. Skor pengetahuan ibu sebelum dilakukan penyuluhan didapatkan hasil 25% dengan kategori baik, sedangkan setelah diberikan penyuluhan didapatkan skor ibu dengan kategori baik adalah 60%. Kesimpulannya terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan ibu setelah diberikan penyuluhan tentang manfaat daun kelor pada pudding yang diberikan pada anak balita sebagai upaya pencegahan kejadian stunting di Kelurahan Mata Air.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by inadequate nutritional intake for a long time due to feeding that is not in accordance with nutritional needs. Stunting children is an indication of a lack of nutritional intake, both in quantity and quality that is not met.Ignorance of the benefits of Moringa leaves for health, due to lack of information about processing Moringa leaves into pudding for teachers and parents at TK Aisyiyah 6 Padang. Based on the results of the documentation study carried out by the service, the solution that will be offered to partners is education by taking steps to educate about the benefits of Moringa leaves and processing in the form of outreach activities / Counseling to teachers and parents of 'Aisyiyah 6 Padang Kindergarten students, distribution of Moringa plants , as well as processing Moringa leaves into Moringa pudding.From the results of the community service carried out, the following results were obtained: the knowledge of the Kindergarten teacher 'Aisyiyah 6 Padang had a good category (60%) about stunting and the use of Moringa leaves as an effort to prevent stunting in children. This study was a cross sectional study to determine the level of knowledge of TK 'Aisyiyah 6 Padang teachers about stunting and the use of Moringa leaves as an effort to prevent stunting in children. Based on the table above, it can be seen that the knowledge of the Kindergarten teacher 'Aisyiyah 6 Padang has a good category (60%) about stunting and the use of Moringa leaves as an effort to prevent stunting in children.
