Abstract

This research explores the dynamics of investor behavior within the framework of risk and return by proposing Causal Loop Diagrams (CLDs) as a modeling tool. The study delves into the intricate relationships between market sentiment, risk perception, stock prices, and investment decisions. The reinforcing and balancing loops identified in the CLDs highlight the complex interplay of factors that shape investor behavior and market dynamics. The reinforcing loop between positive market sentiment and buying decisions illustrates the strong influence of sentiment on investor actions, potentially leading to prolonged bullish trends. Conversely, the reinforcing loop linking high risk perception to selling decisions depicts a negative cycle, with declining stock prices reinforcing risk perception, triggering further divestment. These loops showcase how market participants respond to changing conditions, stabilizing the market during downturns. Implications of the CLDs include the ability to identify market trends, potential risks, and the influence of investor decisions on market dynamics. Recommendations for market participants, analysts, and policymakers emphasize the importance of understanding market sentiment, implementing prudent risk management, and adapting strategies to changing market conditions. In conclusion, the proposed CLDs offer a valuable tool for comprehending the complexities of investor behavior, contributing to improved investment strategies, enhanced risk management practices, and a deeper understanding of financial market dynamics. This research contributes significantly to advancing our understanding of the intricate factors that shape investor decisions and influence the direction of financial markets.

Abstract

This research aims to provide an overview of the factors that influence a person's or individuals' investment behavior. The aspects modeled in this study are internal and external. The result is a picture of the relationship between financial literacy and investment intention. Financial literacy is represented by knowledge, skills, and competencies, while investment interest is represented by attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The investment interest relation employs the theory of planned behavior (TPB), which proposes that a person's or individual's investment behavior is influenced by attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. This study's methodology is system dynamics, which is based on the concept of feedback from control theory and causal loops. In this study, a causal loop diagram approach was used, namely a feedback loop system in a diagram, and this is a feedback structure communication tool that represents the system's main feedback loop that produces the system's dynamic reference behavior.

Abstract

This case study examines how financial technology adoption and financial literacy initiatives support the expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in border regions, with a particular emphasis on Bengkayang. Businesses face special opportunities and problems due to the border location, which calls for a customized strategy to technology integration and financial management. The research examines internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats pertinent to the SME's goals using Internal Factors Analysis Strategy (IFAS) and External Factors Analysis Summary (EFAS) matrix. The IFAS analysis highlights significant advantages in the form of rising government backing and interest, offset by obstacles in the form of resistance and difficulty gaining access to technology. Opportunities like growing demand and partnerships are identified by the EFAS research, along with concerns like political instability and competition. Combining these results, the report suggests proactive risk mitigation, diversified financial services, enhanced collaborations, integrated technology access initiatives, and personalized financial literacy programs. In the particular setting of Bengkayang, a methodical approach to impact evaluation and ongoing monitoring and modification is suggested to guarantee the efficacy of initiatives in fostering SME growth.
