Abstract

Abstract. This research investigates the effect of constructive social capital such as religious tolerance, political participation, and marriage; and destructive social capital such as the corruption culture and discrimination behavior towards the economic growth rate of member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) 2014-2017. The results of the research estimation using the technique of fixed effect (FE) from the panel data of the OIC countries show that religious tolerance measured using the freedom of religion index (FRI) shows a positive and significant effect on the economic growth rate; political participation as measured by political rights index (PRI) has a significant negative effect on the economic growth rate; marriage measured using the percentage of married woman (PMW) has a positive effect on the economic growth rate but is not significant; corruption culture measured using corruption perception index (CPI) has a negative and not significant effect on the economic growth rate; and discrimination behavior measured using discrimination and violence against minorities index (DVI) shows a negative and not significant effect on the economic growth rate. Keywords: Social Capital, Constructive, Destructive, Economic Growth, OIC Abstrak.

Abstract

In contrast to the branches of mathematics in general that require only analytical skills through formula calculation, geometry requires other skills in the form of visual ability to understand. The student's analytical skills can be enhanced by theoretical learning methods. However, theoretical learning method will not be optimal in improving the visual ability. Another method is required that can encourage students' analytical and visual abilities. The learning method that suits these needs is a case study. The case study method in geometry lessons can be applied by creating scenarios that are divided into two stages: the preparation stage and the implementation stage. The preparation stage is related to the formulation of scenarios of case studies that will be conducted by the students in the field, while in the implementation stage the students conduct direct observation in the field based on the case study scenario at the preparation stage and then present the observation result through the presentation, accompanied by suggestion and evaluation from teachers.

Abstract

The emergence of Sharia microfinance institutions (S-MFIs) BMT has become a hope for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) pertaining to the improvement of access to capital loans, business, and welfare of MSME entrepreneurs. This study delves deeper into ex-ante and ex-post transaction costs of the BMT financing scheme at MSMEs from the BMT side and formulates strategies for optimizing BMT financing schemes for MSMEs. Constituting the largest contributor to the overall transaction costs at MSMEs, In a bid to reinforce the financing process, the efficiency of ex-ante transaction costs for drafting and ex-post transaction costs for designing and implementing the BMT’s governance is required.

Abstract

Economic expectations are believed to be one of the factors that can influence a person's political decisions. Where voting support is cast will be determined by the extent to which future economic conditions can meet voter expectations. This study aims to analyze the role of expectations of economic benefits on political interest in elections. Elections in this context are specific to the election of president and vice president of Indonesia in 2024. The research method used is quantitative through distributing questionnaires. The results of research on 45 respondents showed that economic policies in the form of advancing the creative economy, implementing a minimum wage that is fair and in accordance with regional conditions, and strengthening the Farming Business Credit program, are the policies most expected by the community, which also makes people very enthusiastic in choosing. These findings can serve as input for presidential and vice presidential candidates to pay more attention to the creative economy, improving wages and providing assistance to farmers.

Abstract

The majority of regional economic development for cities is a top-down approach where the government designs programs and runs programs for the community. This has the consequence of policies that are not on target, thus an alternative path with a bottom-up approach is needed. As part of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Creative Cities Network, Bandung City continues to nurture the economic growth of the creative sector. In fact, creative industry has been the backbone of the city's economy for many years. Bandung is also a multicultural city inhabited by many young Muslims, this city is a potential place for the movement of the halal economy. The halal lifestyle in the last few years has shown an increasing trend in among young people in Bandung. This study wants to explore the factors of regional economic development through the creative economy and halal lifestyle using the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) method. This study involved 113 entrepreneurs related to the creative and halal industries. Based on the results of this study, there are four main factors that can increase regional economic development in Bandung through the creative industry and halal lifestyle: (Factor 1) Economic growth support system; (Factor 2) Intellectual support system; (Factor 3) Marketing support system; (Factor 4) Collaborative culture support system. These factors are alternative paths with a bottom-up approach as the foundation for regional economic development in Bandung. And based on the results of this study, there is a novelty in the form of a bottom-up approach for public policy related to regional economic development, especially urban regional economic development based on creative and halal industries.
