Abstract

Introduksi teknologi akan lebih efisien jika dilakukan pada kelompok karena dapat menjangkau petani peternak lebih banyak dalam satuan waktu tertentu, sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas, pendapatan, dan kesejahteraan. Kelompok Kinamang merupakan salah satu organisasi petani peternak yang tetap eksis sampai saat ini dari beberapa kelompok tani ternak di Desa Lemoh Barat. Namun demikian tujuan dibentuknya kelompok tani ternak untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan anggota belum sepenuhnya tercapai. Hal ini disebabkan karena: (1) masih sulit mengubah kebiasaan cara pemberian pakan oleh anggota yang hanya mengandalkan pakan dari rumput saja tanpa memberi pakan tambahan sehingga menyebabkan pertumbuhan ternak agak lambat, (2) petani peternak masih menghadapi persoalan kekurangan pakan pada musim kemarau, padahal bahan baku pembuatan pakan cukup tersedia, (3) pemeliharaan ternak oleh anggota kelompok belum dikandangkan sehingga kotoran ternak sapi dibiarkan mencemari lingkungan, dan (4) peternak belum memiliki pemahaman mengenai pembuatan, penggunaan, dan manfaat ekonomi pupuk kompos dari kotoran ternak sapi dan air kencing sapi menjadi biourin. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan kegiatan IbM untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, pendapatan, dan kesejahteraan rumahtangga petani peternak. Metode pelaksanaan pemberdayaan kelompok dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Pelatihan dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, produksi, dan pendapatan anggota kelompok melalui introduksi pemanfaatan limbah tanaman jagung sebagai pakan dan air kencing sapi menjadi biourin untuk mengatasi kekurangan pakan pada saat musim kemarau, meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman dan pendapatan rumahtangga petani peternak.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the type of the superior commodity of livestock and the structure of livestock growth in Regency of South Bolaang Mongondow, Province of North Sulawesi. This research was performed in three districts, such as District of Bolang Uki, District of Posigadan, and District of Pinolosian, possessing the largest ruminant and non-ruminant livestock population. Nineteen respondents of breeders were randomly selected, consisting of cattle, goat, native chicken, broiler, egg-layer, and duck breeder, respectively 15 respondents. Data collected was then analyzed using analysis of location quotient (LQ), coefficient of localization and specialization. According to the result of location quotient (LQ) analysis, cattle, goat, native chicken, and the duck was the superior commodity, becoming a base sector in Regency of South Bolaang Mongondow obtaining value of LQ >1. From four of the superior commodities, nonetheless, only did cattle have more than one coefficient value of localization (1.020), depicting that cattle had been localized in the study area to sustain the local economy. The analysis of specialization showed that Regency of South Bolaang Mongondow had not self-specialized for certain types of livestock to develop regional economy, presented by the coefficient value of specialization which was still lower than one.

Abstract

Pembangunan peternakan memprioritaskan pada peningkatan produksi yang optimal. Salah satu usaha pendukung dalam mencapai tujuan ini yakni dengan peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas pakan. Masalah klasik dalam budidaya ternak sapi di Desa Ranotongkor Timur adalah kekurangan pakan pada musim kemarau baik kualitas, kontinuitas, maupun kuantitas. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan ternak mengalami kehilangan bobot badan atau kematian anak sapi (pedet) umur <1tahun. Walaupun pakan tersedia sepanjang tahun, namun jumlah dan jenis pakan masih terbatas. Pakan yang dikonsumsi berupa rumput yang tumbuh liar dan limbah pertanian seperti halnya jerami jagung yang terdiri atas daun, batang, dan daun tongkol. Anggota kelompok menanam jagung dan sebagian dari tanaman jagung yang telah berbuah (jagung muda) dipotong dan diberikan kepada ternak sapi. Hal ini dilakukan petani peternak untuk mengurangi biaya pakan. Introduksi rumput dwarf dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk perbaikan kualitas dan kuantitas pakan ternak sapi serta pemanfaatan lahan tidur. Kegiatan penanaman rumput pada lahan percontohan diawali dengan kegiatan penyuluhan mengenai manfaat pengembangan rumput berkualitas untuk meningkatkan penyediaan pakan. Pemberdayaan kelompok ternak sapi Usaha Bersama melalui introduksi rumput dwarf menambah dan memperkaya jenis hijauan pakan ternak dalam upaya perbaikan kualitas pakan. Kesimpulannya, pakan yang cukup dan mempunyai nilai nutrisi tinggi merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam upaya peningkatan produktivitas ternak sapi di Desa Ranotongkor Timur. Abstract

The broiler is one of the potential husbandry commodities to be developed, but its development faces various risks, particularly production risk. This is indicated by fluctuating mortality of broiler in each period. This research aimed to analyze some production factors determining production and production risk of broiler production activity in the Regency of North Minahasa, Province of North Sulawesi.  In addition, the research's site was purposively determined, such as six villages representing three districts (District of Dimembe, Kauditan, and Kalawat) having the largest population of breeders under partnership program in the Regency of North Minahasa. From each village, then, breeders were selected by sampling method, comprising 27 breeders of Village of Dimembe, 18 breeders of Village of Matungkas, 19 breeders of Village of Kauditan Satu, 16 breeders of Village of Kauditan Dua, 13 breeders of Village of Kolongan and 10 breeders of Village of Suwaan. The sample of breeders was 100 respondents of the breeder. Further, data collected by survey and analyzed employing Just and Pope Analysis to know some production impacts against production and production risk of broiler. In conclusion, the research shows that the variable of a total of feed, heater, ammotrol, rice husk, and a total of labors could improve broiler production, and variable of Day Old Chick (DOC) could decrease broiler production. Variable of a total of feed, vitamin, rice husk, and a total of labors could decrease production risk of broiler, but a total of a day of chicks could increase production risk of broiler.

Abstract

Any changes in supply and demand result in the imperfect development of a market mechanism, so a disequilibrium price occurs. Price changes, sometimes, do not reflect the prevailing price, issued by an agricultural business. Therefore, this research aims to project the shadow price of beef cattle (output) in the Bali beef fattening industry, utilizing cost production theory. Technically, the comparison of the total of the shadow prices of beef cattle employed two methods, such as a total of revenue and total cost. The research was conducted in the Regency of Lombok Tengah from July to September 2020. Then, the site and group of farmers were determined by purposive sampling. The criteria of samples were farmers performing the Bali beef fattening industry with an intensive raising system, utilizing cross-section data collected via interview and questionnaire. In conclusion, it is found that the shadow price of beef cattle was higher than the market price. It caused non-responsive market price changes unless a great change occurred. The shadow price was established by a greater marginal cost than marginal revenue.
