Untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis efektivitas penyidikan terhadap pelaku tindak pidana ilegal access di Kepolisian Resor Soppeng. Tipe penelitian ini adalah empiris. Hasil Penelitian penulis mendapatkan bahwa: 1). Efektivitas penyidikan terhadap pelaku tindak pidana ilegal access di Kepolisian Resor Soppeng kurang berjalan secara efektif, dikarenakan pada proses penyidikan pihak Penyidik Satuan Reserse dan Kriminal kesulitan menemukan pelaku dan barang bukti pelaku sehingga pada saat penerapan sanksi pidannya yang kemudian dituangan kedalam Berita Acara Pemeriksaan oleh Penyidik memakan waktu cukup lama. 2). Faktor yang menghambat penyidikan terhadap pelaku tindak pidana ilegal access di Kepolisian Resor Soppeng, terdapat beberapa aspek yang menghambat proses penyidikan oleh Penyidik Satuan Reserse dan Kriminal antara lain: Alat bukti; Saksi; Penyidik.
