Abstract

This research is based on the problems that exist in class V SDN Banjarpanjang 1, namely the teacher has not fully implemented an interesting learning model, does not use innovative media and only uses lecture and assignment methods. This results in low cognitive learning outcomes for students. This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes through the application of a mind mapping-assisted project based learning model for fifth grade students at SDN Banjarpanjang 1. This type of research is classroom action research consisting of 2 cycles with 2 meetings in each cycle. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students at SDN Banjarpanjang 1 which consisted of 11 students. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out using test techniques. The research instrument consisted of evaluation questions. This research method uses the Kemmis and McTaggart design, which is in the form of a cycle which includes several stages: planning, action, observing and reflecting. Data analysis in this study is by qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of this study, namely the application of the project based learning model assisted by mind mapping media can improve student learning outcomes in thematic learning Theme 9 Sub Theme 2 Learning 1 class V SDN Banjarpanjang 1. It can be seen that there is an increase from pre-cycle with a completeness score of 27% then an increase in cycles I to 45% and cycle II to 82%, so that there is an increase of 18% in student learning outcomes. This shows that the application of the project based learning model assisted by mind mapping media can improve learning outcomes. In addition, the project-based learning model assisted by mind mapping can make learning active, interesting, fun and provide a memorable experience for students and can help improve the quality of better learning.
