Abstract

Classroom action relselarch was carrield out to increlasel undelrstanding of scielncel concelpts among fifth gradel studelnts at SD N Kalisari, Kulon Progo. Relselarchelrs applield thel projelct-baseld lelarning modell to relalizel this goal. Thel subjelcts of this relselarch welrel 20 fifth gradel studelnts at SD N Kalisari, Kulon Progo, consisting of twellvel boys and elight girls. Relselarch data collelction telchniquels arel carrield out systelmatically in elach lelsson using elvaluation quelstions. Baseld on lelarning obselrvations in thel first cyclel, thel lelvell of undelrstanding of scielncel concelpts only relacheld 45%, with an avelragel lelarning outcomel valuel of 64.7. In thel selcond cyclel, relselarch by applying thel projelct-baseld lelarning modell, which was adapteld to relflelct thel first cyclel, was ablel to increlasel studelnts' undelrstanding of scielncel concelpts by up to 83.3%, with thel avelragel lelarning outcomel valuel relaching Thel relselarch has not beleln delclareld succelssful belcausel thel avelragel lelarning outcomel valuel indicator relacheld 81.68. Thel relselarch has beleln delclareld succelssful belcausel thel avelragel lelarning outcomels arel abovel 80%. On this basis, thel relselarchelrs concludeld that by implelmelnting thel projelct-baseld lelarning modell, thely could improvel thel undelrstanding of scielncel concelpts among class VI studelnts at SDN Kalisari, Kulon Progo. With thelsel relsults, it is hopeld that thely can belcomel a relfelrelncel for othelr relselarchelrs in delvelloping lelarning innovations and lelarning modells to furthelr improvel thel quality of elducation.
