Abstract

Critical thinking is essential for students to cultivate, as it enables them to harness their potential to identify, comprehend, and solve problems. However, critical thinking has not yet become a prevalent culture among students. This may be due to the insufficient use of teaching methods that encourage critical thinking, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) classes. PAI is a subject that imparts knowledge and shapes students' attitudes, personalities, and skills in practicing religious teachings, which are integrated across all educational levels and types. The discussion method in PAI is adapted to address issues that can be resolved collaboratively, with each student expressing their opinions. This method can significantly foster critical thinking among students. This research employs a quantitative inferential approach, collecting data or information about the phenomena under study. Data collection techniques included distributing questionnaires to 25 respondents, conducting classroom observations in Class X OTKP to observe the learning process, and document analysis. Data processing was carried out using statistical analysis. The statistical tests revealed that the discussion method in PAI subjects contributes 19.48% to the development of students' critical thinking skills. In contrast, 80.52% of the factors influencing critical thinking were attributed to other variables not examined in this study. Abstract

Tidak sedikit peserta didik kesulitan dalam menerima pelajaran yang disampaikan oleh guru sehingga menyebabkan peserta didik tidak bisa memahami mata pelajaran PAI. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran di sekolah terfokus pada peran guru, dan peserta didik. Dalam pelaksanaan proses belajar mengajar di dalam kelas, pelajaran PAI harus memilih dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dan tepat dengan kebutuhan. Dan salah satu model pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan dapat melatih kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami pelajaran PAI adalah dengan metode tanya jawab.   Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1). Mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa pada mata Pelajaran Pendidikan agama Islam. 2). Mendeskripsikan implementasi metode tanya jawab pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam. 3). Mendeskripsikan pengaruh implementasi metode tanya jawab terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana hubungan antara penerapan metode tanya jawab (Variabel X), dengan keberhasilan proses pembelajaran (Variabel Y).   Adapun penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode penelitiannya menggunakan metode (kuantitatif inferensial). Adapun metode kuantitatif inferensial ialah metode untuk proses pengambilan kesimpulan penelitian berdasarkan pada data sampel dengan jumlah yang lebih sedikit supaya kesimpulan yang dihasilkan bersifat lebih umum untuk sebuah populasi dan penelitian berkaitan dengan penjelasan atau penjabaran angka-angka statistik .   Hasil penelitian menjukkan bahwa penerapan metode tanya jawab di SDIT Bina insan Banyuresmi dapat dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh antara variabel (X) Metode tanya jawab terhadap variabel (Y) hasil belajar peserta didik mata pelajaran PAI di SDIT Bina Insan Banyuresmi tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Dikonsultasikan dengan harga Ftabel pada taraf signifikan 5% yaitu 4,17 karena Freg =12,868 ➤ Ft = 4,17 maka signifikan, dan sebesar 30,01% sedangkan faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa 69,99% namun tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.   Kata Kunci : Pendidikan Agama Islam, Metode Tanya Jawab, Keberhasilan Belajar siswa

Abstract

The learning process is a core activity within schools, and the act of learning continues throughout a person’s lifetime. Achieving optimal learning outcomes necessitates the presence of supportive factors, one of which is motivation. Motivation is the fundamental drive that propels an individual to act; without it, the learning process cannot yield maximum results. This study aims to explore David McClelland's motivation theory and its application within Islamic Religious Education (PAI). McClelland's theory focuses on three primary needs: the need for achievement, the need for power, and the need for affiliation. The research employs a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, gathering data or information on the observed phenomena. A total of 25 eleventh-grade students from the Accounting and Financial Institution (AKL) class at SMK Ciledug Al-Musaddadiyah Garut were sampled for this study. The initial hypothesis posited that r XY = 0 (no influence of David McClelland’s motivation on students' academic achievement), while the working hypothesis posited r XY ≠ 0 (there is an influence of David McClelland’s motivation on students' academic achievement). The results indicate that David McClelland’s achievement motivation significantly influences academic achievement in PAI learning by 69.75% among the eleventh-grade AKL students at SMK Ciledug Al-Musaddadiyah Garut, particularly in terms of the need for achievement. Abstract

Student learning outcomes remain a perennial issue in the field of education. At SMPN 2 Cikajang, there was a noted decline in the final semester exam scores for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the eighth grade during the 2021-2022 academic year. Quantum Learning, a pedagogical model that fosters active student engagement and creates an inclusive and comfortable learning environment, has been proposed as a solution to address this decline. The objectives of this study are to: (1) describe the implementation of the Quantum Learning model in PAI lessons; (2) assess the learning achievements of eighth-grade students in PAI at SMPN 2 Cikajang; and (3) analyze the impact of the Quantum Learning model on the students' PAI learning outcomes. This research employs an inferential quantitative method, collecting data and information about the phenomenon under study. Data collection techniques include questionnaires distributed to 27 respondents and observations. The results indicate that the Quantum Learning model in PAI is highly effective, with an average score of 4.19, placing it in the 3.01-4.00 interval, which falls under the "very good" category. Similarly, the learning outcomes for eighth-grade students in PAI at SMPN 2 Cikajang averaged 4.18, also in the "very good" category. Statistical analysis reveals that the Quantum Learning model significantly influences the students' PAI learning outcomes, accounting for 46.71% of their success. However, other factors influencing student success, constituting 53.29%, were not examined in this study. Abstract

Muslims in Indonesia represent one of the largest Islamic communities in the world, providing a concrete example of how Islamic principles are practiced within a culturally pluralistic society. This diverse cultural backdrop influences the way Islamic teachings are understood and applied. Among many Indonesian Muslims, there remains a strong adherence to ritualistic practices, one of which is the celebration of Rebokasan. Rebokasan is a phenomenon rooted in the intensive cultural assimilation of Javanese traditions with Islam. The objectives of this study are to: (1) Understand the meaning of Islamic Education; (2) Identify the educational values inherent in the Rebokasan celebration; (3) Examine the educational values of Rebokasan through the lens of Islamic Education studies. This research employs a library research approach with descriptive analytical methods, drawing on primary sources (Qur'an and Hadith) and secondary sources (supportive books). Data collection techniques include documentation, qualitative analysis, and content analysis within the framework of Islamic Education studies. The findings reveal four educational values embedded in the Rebokasan celebration: First, the Value of Strengthening Faith (Aqidah), as the community engages in collective prayers during Rebokasan. Second, the Value of Social Concern, demonstrated by the sharing of food among community members. Third, the Value of Maintaining Social Bonds (Silaturahmi), expressed through community gatherings in mosques for the Rebokasan festivities. Fourth, the Value of Cultural Cooperation (Gotong Royong), evident in the communal effort to prepare and distribute food as an act of charity. Abstract

Globalization today has made it challenging for children to perform religious practices, respect others, and resist external cultural influences, leading to issues with students' character development. Character education is crucial as it serves as a nation's foundational pillar and should be instilled in children from an early age. Therefore, instilling religious character through the practice of Dhuha prayer is one of the strategies implemented. Teachers have designed religious character formation programs to enhance students' personalities and their religiousness through Dhuha prayer activities. This study aims to assess the implementation of Dhuha prayer at MA Nurul Islam Pasirwangi Garut and evaluate the religious character among students at the institution. It seeks to determine the extent to which Dhuha prayer practice influences the development of students' religious character in their daily lives. The study employs an inferential quantitative method to examine the relationship between Variable X (Dhuha prayer implementation) and Variable Y (religious character formation), involving 25 participants. Data were collected using questionnaires, which served as research instruments, providing comprehensive, systematic, and easily analyzable data. The results indicate that the average implementation of Dhuha prayer among students is 4.056, falling within the 3.01-4.00 interval, categorized as good. The religious character formation has an average score of 3.976, also within the 3.01-4.00 interval, and is categorized as good. Statistical analysis reveals that Dhuha prayer practice influences the development of students' religious character by 38.59%, which is considered high. However, 61.41% of other factors influencing the formation of religious character were not explored in this study. Abstract

Academic achievement remains a significant issue due to several factors: lack of student engagement with the material presented, indifference among students, and passive attitudes in the classroom. Therefore, utilizing a variety of teaching methods is a viable solution to address these student-related problems. This study aims to describe the influence of using diverse teaching methods in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) on students' academic performance. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach. Data collection methods include observation, document studies, and questionnaires distributed to 20 students who served as the sample for this study. Data analysis was conducted using statistical methods. The findings indicate that the average effectiveness of varied teaching methods is 4.00, which falls within the interval of 4.01-5.00, categorized as "Very Good." This suggests that the effectiveness of teaching has improved following the implementation of diverse teaching methods in the learning process. In terms of academic performance in IRE subjects, students achieved an average score of 4.09, also within the interval of 4.01-5.00, categorized as "Very Good." This demonstrates that the use of varied teaching methods is an appropriate solution to enhance student academic achievement. Statistical analysis confirms that there is a significant influence of using varied teaching methods in IRE on students' academic performance, accounting for 47.59% of the improvement, while other variables not examined in this study contribute to 52.40% of the influence on students' academic performance. Abstract

The Qur'an serves as a guide in human life, offering direction on various issues faced by humanity, including pre-marital considerations. Pre-marriage, or pranikah, is the initial step towards fulfilling the objectives of marriage. The Qur'an contains numerous verses that address pre-marital education, notably in Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 13. This particular verse encompasses several values pertinent to pre-marital education. This research aims to describe the pre-marital educational values contained in Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 13, from the perspective of Islamic Educational Science. This study adopts a library research methodology, involving an analysis of the interpretations provided by Islamic scholars (mufassir) on Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 13, and the educational pre-marital values as articulated by experts and religious scholars. The research utilizes a qualitative approach, focusing on content analysis of Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 13, and relevant texts. The findings suggest that the values embedded in Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 13, are associated with Akidah Education (Tarbiyatul Aqidah/Imaniyah), Shari'ah Education (Tarbiyatul Ibadah), and Akhlaq Education (Tarbiyatul Akhlaq). The pre-marital educational values derived from Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 13, in the context of Islamic Educational Science, emphasize the importance of faith in Allah SWT, who created mankind as male and female, and diversified them into various ethnicities and nations. This diversity necessitates mutual acquaintance or ta'aruf before entering marriage. By fostering trust and mutual understanding, individuals are encouraged to develop piety and devotion to Allah SWT. Abstract

Critical thinking ability refers to the process through which students systematically dissect problems, accurately identify and distinguish issues with precision. The challenges observed in the research setting include students' delays in responding to information during the learning process, a lack of reading engagement, and some students remaining passive. The scientific approach is a learning methodology that offers students opportunities to explore and elaborate on the materials being studied. Consequently, this approach can enhance students' critical thinking abilities. This study aims to describe the impact of the scientific approach on students' critical thinking abilities in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) classes. The objective is to ascertain the extent of the relationship between the scientific approach and the students' critical thinking skills. The research method employed is descriptive quantitative correlational. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation studies. Data analysis is conducted through statistical data processing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the scientific approach in learning received an average rating of 4.31, categorized as very good. Meanwhile, the improvement in students' critical thinking abilities achieved an average rating of 4.37, also categorized as very good. Statistical tests reveal that the scientific approach accounts for 52.75% of the variation in students' critical thinking abilities, while the remaining 47.25% is influenced by other factors not included in this study.  Keywords: Scientific Approach; Critical Thinking Ability; Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher’s attention to the continuity of the learning process at SMA Ciledug Al-Musaddadiyah Garut, which implements the Independent Learning Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar) in the 10th grade. Initial observations indicated that students' critical thinking skills are still low, as evidenced by their difficulties in answering questions from teachers, their inability to express opinions, reluctance to complete school assignments, and lack of enthusiasm for learning. Within the framework of Merdeka Belajar, critical thinking is one of the core elements in shaping the Pancasila Student Profile. Cultivating critical thinking skills is essential for every student as it is crucial for problem-solving and decision-making processes. The objective of this study is to understand the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) classes and its impact on enhancing the critical thinking abilities of 10th-grade students at SMA Ciledug Al-Musaddadiyah Garut. The research employs a descriptive analytical qualitative method aimed at providing a comprehensive and holistic description and analysis of the implementation of Merdeka Belajar in PAI instruction to improve the critical thinking skills of 10th-grade students at SMA Ciledug Al-Musaddadiyah Garut. Data sources for this research include primary data from observations and interviews with informants from SMA Ciledug Al-Musaddadiyah, and secondary data from reference books, journals, documents, and other relevant archives. Data collection techniques encompass observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this research demonstrate that the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar curriculum in PAI classes has led to an increase in students' critical thinking skills. This is evidenced by the results of the fifth observation during the learning process, which meet the five critical thinking indicators, showing a notable improvement in students' critical thinking abilities. These findings confirm the positive impact of the Merdeka Belajar approach on students' critical thinking development.  Keywords : Critical Thinking Skills, Implementation, Independent Learning (Merdeka Belajar)
