Abstract

Sinusitis merupakan penyakit yang sering ditemukan dalam praktek dokter sehari-hari, bahkan dianggap sebagai salah satu penyebab gangguan kesehatan tersering di seluruh dunia. Di Indonesia prevalensi rinosinusitis cukup tinggi, penyakit hidung dan sinus menempati urutan ke 25 dari 50 pola penyakit peringkat pertama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran klinis penderita rinosinusitis kronis rawat inap di RSU Royal Prima. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif retrospektif dengan desain case study. Populasi seluruh data rekam medis penderita rawat inap di RSU Royal Prima tahun 2021 sebanyak 112 data. Data yang diambil secara purposive sampling, yaitu rekam medis yang paling lengkap. Kelompok usia terbanyak pada penderita rinosinusitis kronis usia 38 – 43 tahun sebanyak 14 orang (25%), kelompok jenis kelamin mayoritas pada kelompok jenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak 34 orang (60,7%), pekerjaan terbanyak sebagai pegawai swasta sebanyak 21 orang (44,6%). Gejala klinis yang paling banyak yaitu hidung tersumbat, sakit kepala, dan sekret purulen sebanyak 18 orang (32,1%). Lokasi sinus yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu sinus maksila sebanyak 50 orang (89,3%). Penatalaksanaan farmakologi dengan kombinasi cefadroxil, ketorolac dan metronidazole sebanyak 21 orang (37,5%). Dan tindakan operatif turbinektomi sebanyak 32 orang (64%). Diharapkan kepada pemerintah ataupun tenaga medis untuk melakukan program pengendalian penyakit rinosinusitis, dengan cara sosialisasi dan penyuluhan. Agar masyarakat lebih memperdulikan masalah kesehatan terutama hidung dan mulut.

Abstract

Sedentary lifestyles increase the risk of morbidity and infectious illnesses. Physical exercise can improve immune function but can lead to increased oxidants and reactive oxygen species (ROS), damaging cells and tissues. Crucial in mitigating the cellular damage caused by free radicals are antioxidants, including non-enzymatic antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamins C and E, and others. Moderate to high-intensity physical exercise can result in an increase in ROS and a reduction in SOD. Grape seeds are rich in antioxidants, which have been shown to neutralize free radicals and protect against inflammation, bacteria, ulcers, and cancer. These antioxidants, including phenols and proanthocyanidins, are beneficial to health and have applications in various industries, including energy production, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. Research is also being conducted to explore their antioxidant effects on MDA levels. Grape seed extract was tested for its impact on malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in the blood of male Wistar strain white rats. Rats' MDA levels decreased following four weeks of treatment. Rat cages, digital scales, an MDA test kit, and SPSS were some of the equipment used in the study. Grape seed extract effectively reduces MDA levels in rats with hypercholesterolemia, resulting in weight loss and a lee index below 0.3, and increases SOD levels, indicating potential for human use.
