Abstract

This study evaluates the efficiency of the Takuma N750 water tube Boiler at a palm oil mill, which has a maximum evaporation capacity of 27 tons per hour. Boiler efficiency is crucial for converting thermal energy from fuel into steam, with operational data showing significant efficiency variations. The average efficiency was 54.34%, substantially below the target of 80%, with the highest recorded efficiency at 60.4% and the lowest at 51.08%. The analysis revealed an inverse relationship between excess air and Boiler efficiency; as excess air increases, efficiency decreases. For instance, with 139.22% excess air, efficiency dropped to 56.36%, compared to 60.4% with 123.44% excess air. The study concludes that optimizing excess air levels is essential for improving Boiler efficiency, recommending adjustments to combustion parameters and excess air control to enhance performance and reduce operational costs. This research offers insights into better Boiler operation and energy management in palm oil mills.

Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, industrial competition is increasingly competitive, to produce a product that has high quality to be an added value in XYZ company's competitive advantage, so that companies produce good quality products by meeting consumer standards and tastes for the products they produce and reduce the level of product defects by the company. This study aims to analyze defective products on Part lockwasher at PT XYZ. The research used the Six Sigma method to control product quality through 5 stages, namely define, measure, analyze, improve and control. From the results of this analysis, it was found that there were 3 types of product defects that caused the resulting defects, namely high torque values, rotating bolts, and easily detached stoppers caused by machine, human, and method factors. the results of the six sigma calculation of defective products Part lockwasher during April-December there is a six sigma level of 3.463 with an average DPMO of 24803.43, and knowing the highest level of defects is caused by high torque values. These results indicate that product defects in Part lockwasher are on average for the Indonesian industry. The proposal given in this study uses 5W + 1H as an improvement to improve product quality.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest island nation on the continent of Asia. The islands of Indonesia have some 17,000 islands recorded in 2021. Of these, there are still many small islands and outer islands that remain undetected by the Indonesian government. With the presence of the outermost islands of Indonesia, the republic's sovereignty grows clearer as its borders are detected. The boundary region is an important aspect of a country because it is a highly strategic region for a country to build. The boundary region is the daily interaction between globalization and locality. Indonesia has some dispute with neighboring countries linked to the outermost island directly to one another. Sebatik island became one of the islands that had an issue with its position. Indonesia gets its territory in accordance with colonial jurisdiction. The region is obtained on the basis of the principle of uti possible. Using a qualitative approach, the writing addressed Indonesia's potential to keep the island seusing the possible principle of uti Indonesia, which is the main basis for Indonesia to win the lawsuit against Indonesia.
