Abstract

Obesity may cause the lipid metabolisms disorder so that a risk factor for hypercholesterolemic. Catechin and epigallocatechin gallate in white tea potentially inhibit lipase activity. Caffeine compounds and catechin derivatives have a role as antihypercholesterolemic. The objective of this study was to explore antiobesity and antihypercholesterolemic activity from white tea infusions to lipase and total cholesterol in rats model fed a high-fat-diet. Twenty-five rats were divided into five groups. Negative control group was administered with distilled water. The positive control group was administered with orlistat dose 14.2 mg/kgBW. Group 3rd, 4th, and 5th were treated with white tea infussion doses of 125, 250 and 500 mg/kgBW/day, respectivelly. period and feed intake was calculated daily during the treatment. White tea doses of 500 mg/kgBW decrease the total cholesterol by 37.16±11 mg/dL, lipase level of 23.70±0.64 U/L, weight up to 3.53±1.21 g/day and decrease feed intake by 12.71±1.76 g/day. The infusion of white tea can decrease total cholesterol level, lipase level, body weight and feed intake. This study concluded that infusion of white tea has antiobesity and antihypercholesterolemic effect on rats fed high-fat-diet.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Akar tunjuk langit (Helminthostachys Zeylanica (L) Hook) merupakan salah satu obat tradisional yang banyak di gunakan oleh masyarakat  di berbagai wilayah di Indonesia, senyawa yang terkandung dalam Akar Tunjung Langit di antara lain salah satunya flavonoid, memiliki potensi sebagai obat anti inflamasi, anti hiperurisemia dan anti kanker. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengelompokan sampel berdasarkan pola spectra  FTIR-ATR menggunakan kemometrik dan mengetahui ciri khas tiap sampel yang berasal dari berbagai daerah. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret 2021 sampai Mei 2021 di Laboratorium Teknologi Farmasi dan Laboratorium Kimia Analisa Farmasi, STIKES ‘Aisyiyah Palembang.metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu metode ektraksi ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) dan kemometrik dalam analisis sampel ektrak akar tunjuk langit. Hasil: Hasil penelititan menunjukan dari 11 sampel terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok besar di analisis menggunakan multivariat kemometrik yang menggambarkan ciri khas dari masing-masing sampel  maupun respon sesuai dengan parameter yang telah dilakukan yang mengacu pada kemiripan, pengelompokan dan korelasi dari masing-masing sampel. Analisis Principle Component Analisys (PCA) dan Cluster Analisys (CA) menghasilkan sampel membentuk 3 kelompok yang mana dari 3 kelompok 2 kelompok memiliki karakteristik yang cukup sama  sedangkan untuk kelompok 1 memiliki ciri karakteristik yang tidak terlalu beda.Saran: Perlu dilakukan uji dengan lebih banyak sampel dan standar sehingga akan benar-benar dapat mengelompokan dan kemiripan sampel dengan data standar.

Abstract

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has a disadvantage in its oral use, such as gastrointestinal disorders, nausea, vomiting and gastric ulcers. Transdermal patch dosage forms are an alternative in overcoming this weakness. The transdermal patch is formulated using a special membrane that can control drug release in a matrix system. Therefore, this study optimizes chitosan and HPMC as polymers using a factorial design approach. The parameters tested included weight uniformity, patch thickness, swelling index, in vitro release rate, folding resistance, ibuprofen uniformity, surface pH, and moisture content. The interactions between the components were evaluated using Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry-attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR). The optimum concentration of chitosan was 0.5% and HPMC 6% with CV values for weight uniformity of 0.003 ± 1.202%; humidity 0.543 ± 5.595%; swelling index 4.611 ± 23,657%; thickness 0.052 ± 2.428%; surface pH 5; durability is less than 300 times and the uniformity of ibuprofen levels is 1.52 ± 2.99%. The design approach using the FFD22 obtained an effective and efficient mathematical-statistical model to determine the optimal polymer combination in the formula. As an additional instrument in design evaluation, the chemometric approach is constructive in modeling and optimization.

Abstract

Daun kopi robusta (Coffea canephora) memiliki potensi sebagai agen antioksidan dan antidiabetes karena kandungan senyawa fenolik yang melimpah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak etanolik daun kopi robusta (EEDK) terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa darah. Hewan uji dibagi menjadi kelompok normal, kontrol negatif (NaCMC 0,5%), kontrol positif (metformin 34,6 mg/200 gBB), dan tiga perlakuan (EEDK dosis 59, 118, dan 236 mg/kgBB). Pemodelan tikus diabetes dengan pemberian sukrosa dan diet lemak tinggi selama 85 hari. Ekstrak diberikan pada hari ke-86 sampai 100, kadar glukosa darah diukur hari 91; 96 dan 101. Penurunan kadar glukosa darah kelompok kontrol positif sebesar 69,26%. Kelompok perlakuan ekstrak berturut-turut 47,05%; 56,93% dan 72,48%. Ekstrak daun kopi robusta memiliki aktivitas sebagai antidiabetes dan tidak terdapat perbedaan dibandingkan metformin (p>0,05). Rata-rata nilai AUC96-101 yang paling rendah dan mempunyai persentase penurunan kadar glukosa darah yang paling besar ditunjukan oleh EEDK dosis 236 mg/kgBB. Nilai ED50 EEDK yaitu 126,90 mg/kg BB. Daun kopi robusta memiliki potensi sebagai agen antidiabetes.

Abstract

The optimization approach using the simplex lattice design (SCD) has many advantages, including a minimized number of experiments and a good description of the interactions between components. However, modeling with the SCD approach has not evaluated between responses. Therefore, this study aims to apply chemometric analysis to evaluate the response from the optimization stage using the quercetin – self emulsion formulations (quercetin-SEFs) as a model. SEFs were prepared using grapeseed oil, croduret, and PEG 400. The evaluated responses included emulsification time and transmittance. Both responses were developed in endurance test by centrifugation method and stability test using freeze-thaw. Chemometric analysis on CA produced a dendrogram, while PCA produced score plots, loading plots, scree plots, and biplots. Emulsification time has a positive correlation with transmittance value. The quercetin-SEFs formula in SCD was classified into three groups based on the similarity of characters. Chemometric analysis was successfully applied in evaluating the response to the quercetin-SEFs optimization modeling.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Lipstik merupakan salah satu kosmetik yang digunakan untuk mewarnai bibir sehingga dapat meningkatkan estetika dalam tata rias wajah dan memberikan ekspresi wajah yang menarik. Ekstrak biji coklat (Theobroma cacao L.) mengandung antosianin yang berpotensi sebagai zat warna alami. Metode simplex lattice design (SLD) mudah digunakan dan dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi formula optimum sediaan lipstik ekstrak biji coklat. Tujuan: Diketahuinya komposisi bahan carnauba wax dan paraffin wax penyusun formula optimum lipstik dan karakteristiknya Metode: Pendekatan design of experiment (DoE) dengan SLD menggunakan piranti lunak design expert. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Mei sampai Agustus 2022 di Laboratorium Farmasi Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan ‘Aisyiyah Palembang. Parameter yang diuji meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, daya oles, titik leleh, pH, daya lekat. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan DoE. Hasil: Formula optimum yang diperoleh dari sediaan lipstik kombinasi carnauba wax dan paraffin wax yaitu berturut-turut 5,561 % dan 19,439 %. Formula optimum memiliki daya lekat 82 ± 13,25 detik dan titik leleh 68 ± 1,89. Lipstik biji coklat berwarna ungu dengan bau khas coklat, homogen, merata dengan warna intensif Saran: Perlu dilakukan pengujian lebih lanjut terhadap kandungan kimia ekstrak biji coklat. Kata Kunci: Lipstik, Theobroma cacao, optimasi, design of experiment, simplex lattice design

Abstract

PULAU SEMAMBU VILLAGE COVID 19 PREVENTION TRAINING ON LOCAL AGRICULTURAL HEALTH DRINK. The growing epidemic of COVID-19 poses a significant problem for the government and the population. Among the several measures used to avoid infection is the consumption of nutritious meals and beverages that boost the body’s immunity. Based on the results of the site survey; ginger, turmeric, lime, and pineapple are four antioxidant-rich plants that grow in Pulau Semambu Village. Turmeric contains curcumin, ginger contains shogaol and gingerol, and limes have high in vitamin C, those compounds play a vital function as an antioxidant and immunostimulant. Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapple that can enhance the absorption of curcumin molecules. The activity was conducted utilizing lecture and live demonstration, discussion, and a pre- and post-test to assess participant knowledge. According to the hedonic test, syrup is considered acceptable. Based on the results of the test, it was found that participant’s knowledge had increased. The public knowledge of the COVID-19 transmission process has increased to 100%, 96% of respondents understand the causes of COVID-19, 96% of respondents understand the symptoms of COVID-19, and 92% of respondents understand how to prevent COVID-19. The community’s knowledge of herbal use also increased, 100% of respondents understand the sorts of herbs that can be used to prevent COVID-19, 72% of respondents understand how to process these herbs, and 92% of respondents understand how to prepare these herbs.

Abstract

Gaya hidup kurang gerak dikombinasikan dengan asupan kalori yang berlebihan menghasilkan penyimpanan energi ekstra sebagai lemak. Prevalensi sindrom metabolik diperkirakan akan berkembang secara substansial dalam skala global. Pasien dengan sindrom metabolik memiliki resiko terkena stroke 3-4x lebih besar. Sebanyak 34% penduduk di Ulak Kerbau Baru memperoleh penghasilan dari pertanian dan perkebunan. Ubi jalar ungu mengandung jauh lebih banyak antosianin daripada ubi jalar kuning dan putih. Antosianin dapat menjaga kesehatan dan menurunkan bahaya penyakit degeneratif, aktivitas antikanker, kapasitas antioksidan, aktivitas antiulcer, dan gangguan kardiovaskular. Pemahaman masyarakat tentang manfaat ubi ungu bagi kesehatan masih terbatas. Program pengabdian masyarakat dengan sistem perkuliahan desa dapat menjadi sarana peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan dan demo pembuatan produk pangan sehat yang berbahan dasar tepung ubi jalar ungu. Peningkatan persentase jawaban dari pre-test (33,913%) ke post-test (87,273%) menunjukkan bahwa informasi diterima dengan baik oleh masyarakat desa Ulak Kerbau Baru. Hasil penilaian organoleptik masyarakat dimana mayoritas responden menilai suka dan sangat suka pada produk olahan tepung ubi jalar ungu dengan parameter rasa, aroma, tekstur, warna, dan bentuk. A sedentary lifestyle combined with an excessive caloric intake results in the storage of extra energy as fat. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome is predicted to expand substantially on a global scale. Patients with metabolic syndrome have a 3-4 times increased risk of having a stroke. The majority of residents in Ulak Kerbau Baru derive their income from agriculture and plantations. Purple sweet potatoes contain far more anthocyanins than their orange and white counterparts. Anthocyanins can preserve health and lower the danger of degenerative diseases, anticancer activity, antioxidant capacity, antiulcer activity, and cardiovascular disorders. The public's understanding of the health benefits of purple sweet potato remains limited. Through this community service program and the village lecture plan, it is anticipated that public awareness of metabolic syndrome disease will rise. Using lecture approaches that are integrated with electives courses in Traditional Medicine, knowledge is enhanced. The increase in the percentage of accurate responses from the pre-test (33,913%) to the post-test (87,273%) indicates that the information is well received by the general population. The results of the organoleptic assessment of the community, in which the majority of respondents rated the parameters of taste, scent, texture, colour, and shape of the product as like or liking very much, indicate that people prefer the processed items that are produced.
