Abstract

The problem that is often faced for small and medium industries is the limited capital they have. They feel unable to hire designers to produce innovative products. They also often objected to allocating funds to conduct design experiments that required a lot of funds that they found to be highly speculative. Many small and medium industries that are comfortable with their conditions, accept orders whose designs come from direct buyers. They only become producers who often have low bargaining positions in the presence of buyers. The price of production is even determined by non-producer buyers. As a result, despite the large number of orders, the welfare of business actors and employees is difficult to improve. UMKM Development Activities This art is done to overcome these obstacles. Pembina who is a lecturer in Product Design Study Program ISI Yogyakarta has the competence to carry out the product innovation development activities. Through a more collaborative activities between lecturers and business actors, some design products produced from clam waste, some of which are made of prototype. With these activities, it is expected that business actors are motivated to continuously make design innovations on the products it produces. Collaboration, for lecturers also have a positive impact, namely the development of insight into the material and engineering workmanship in the field which in turn can be used as learning materials on campus. Keywords: waste, clame, product design

Abstract

A cabinet is a storage that is considered effective and efficient because apart from being useful as a place to store various items, it adds aesthetic value to a space. The high demand for land for housing has led to vertical flats, like apartments. An apartment with a studio type has simply one room, where the only space with a section is in the bathroom. In this type of apartment, furniture with optimal function is needed because the space in a studio apartment is very minimal but still compact to maximize every available space. Multifunctional furniture is suitable for studio-type apartments because it has more value in both ergonomics and economics. This design creates a multifunctional cabinet with a retro theme suitable for residential needs with relatively limited space. It has various functions as a storage for cutlery needs and can transform into a dining table set equipped with folding stools for 2-4 people. The design used the four-phase Design Thinking method in the Double Diamond model, such as discover, define, develop, and deliver. The methods used in the design are qualitative and quantitative data analysis using questionnaires, documents, and literature studies.

Abstract

: Today's society views motorbikes as no longer just a means of transportation, but also as part of their lifestyle. Not only for established groups, but also young people, they began to modify their motorcycles to look more beautiful or just follow the trends and times that are developing in the world of custom motorcycles. In addition to the aesthetics, motorcycle modification also takes into account the strength of the motorcycle variety products used. Many variations of motorcycle spare parts today do not pay attention to the life and durability of the spare parts themselves including the crucial part. The crucial part of a motorcycle is the motorcycle tank. Motorcycle tanks with metal or iron plates that are widely circulated in the market are susceptible to rust corrosion and also dents due to impact. The design of a custom motorcycle tank with fiberglass white carbon powder material provides convenience to custom motorcycle users in the maintenance of their tanks. With this fiberglass white carbon powder material, motorcycle tanks will be easier to maintain because they do not cause rust and can also withstand collisions with certain forces. Key words: motorcycle tank, fibreglass white carbon powder, custom motorcycle, corrosi

Abstract

Coworking Space is a place where individuals or groups have different work backgrounds in one place. In Indonesia, coworking spaces are developing, with proof of that is the emergence of coworking spaces in big cities, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta. With the increasing demand, coworking spaces are currently experiencing development. One element that is quite close and plays an important role in work activities is a table and chairs. Various activities and various work backgrounds that gather in a limited space and spend quite a long time, demand a coworking space to be a versatile and comfortable place. Thus, we need furniture that can achieve effectiveness and still think about the concept of open space or sharing space with other users. This means that this furniture has more features, such as being able to be used individually or together. So that the designed tables and chairs can accommodate user needs and adjust the space that is expected to create comfort for working in a coworking space.

Abstract

The new work concept, Flexible Working Space (FWS), is defined as the arrangement of team member work patterns that provide flexibility in work locations by maximizing information technology. This concept encourages the idea of meeting the needs of employees to do activities at home by designing smart and multifunctional work desk products. This workbench is made using reclaimed wood waste and polyester resin. In addition to increasing the selling value, combining wood waste and resin will be realized with the finishing technique of burning (shou sugi ban) on wood. The use of this finishing technique aims to present a classic and elegant aesthetic impression in accordance with user expectations. The design of this work table product uses the Design Thinking method, which consists of 5 stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. This project produces a smart table, a multifunctional work desk equipped with sensor-based lights and music with reclaimed wood material that is finished using shou sugi tire and resin techniques for the upper-class urban user segment.
