Abstract

Pests are one the reason of declined in crop production. one of them is Spodoptera litura. The purpose of this research was to determined the mortality rate of Spodoptera litura caused by M. anisopliae infection. The research is conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory of Agricultural Technology Department of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fishery, and Biology of Universitas Bangka Belitung. The research used factorial randomized block design with 2 treatment factors. The first factor ( stage larvae) consists of L1=instar 3, L2=instar 4. The second factor (the concentration) consists of V0=control, V1= 30 g/l of water, V2=35 g/l of water, V3= 40 g/l of water, V4= 45 g/l of water. The data is analyzed using ANOVA with confidence level of 95% and is further tested using the Tukey Test with the confidence level of 95%. The research results show that a concentration of 30 g/l of water and 35 g/l of water the mortality rate reaches 88,89%, while at the concentration of 40 g/l of water and 45 g/l of water the mortality rate reaches 100% with 3 to 7 days span of mortality. The larvae infected with M. anisopliae experience behavioral changes such as decreased appetite, less active movement, inactive, and transformed color to black with mycelium covering a part of the body.

Abstract

Rice crops are the main source of staple food for the Indonesian people, as well as in the Bangka Belitung province. The cultivation of rice crops is still through various obstacles, such as the attack of Leptocorisa oratorius Fabricius, which attacks the rice plants after flowering by sucking the grain. The aim of this study was to know the effect of L.oratorius population on the rice yield, to know the number of L. oratorius that can decrease the 15% paddy yield and to know the percentage of rice loss based on the number of L. oratorius population in the Kimak village, Merawang district, Bangka regency. The research was conducted on November 2017 to January 2018 on paddy field in Kimak village. This research used experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) wich consist of 8 treatments and 2 replications. The treatment was the differences L.oratorius population. Consist of: without L.oratorius, 2 L.oratorius, 3 L.oratorius, 4 L.oratorius, 5 L.oratorius, 6 L.oratorius, 7 L.oratorius and 8 L.oratorius. The result showed that the number of L. oratorius has significant effect on rice yield, 3 population of L. oratorius per 50 cm x 50 cm able to reduce the rice yield by 15% and the percentage of yield loss at the treatment of 2 - 8 L.oratorius is about 10.97% up to 28.98%.

Abstract

The local cassava plant of Bangka has not been utilized optimally because its production is still low compared to national varieties. There are several ways to create good soil conditions to support plant growth in acid soils, such as the addition of mycorrhiza. The objective of the study was to increase the growth and production of Bangka local cassava in acid soils. The experiment had been conducted on acid soils with pH 4.4 (very acidic) and P-Bray 1 5.8 ppm (very low) in Balunijuk Village, Bangka Regency, from September 2016 - May 2017. This research used the experiment method with factorial randomized block design (FRBD) with two factors. The first factor was Bangka local cassava namely Sutera, Mentega, Batin, 3 Bulan and Malang variety (as the comparison) and second factor was mycorrhiza. The results showed Sutera accession had the highest plant height and production in acid soils. The addition of mycorrhiza as much as 50 g / plant can increase the growth and production of Bangka local cassava. The Bangka local cassava showed better growth quality but still have lower production compared with national varieties. Conservation of local cassava plants Bangka in acid soils can be optimized its growth by using local clones Bangka, but the production of national varieties is higher compared local cassava of Bangka

Abstract

Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a food crop plant carbohydrate after rice and corn. Bangka local cassava has different starch content at each accession. The purpose of this study was to know the effect of irradiation treatment on the quality of Bangka local cassava and national variety. This research had been conducted on October 2017 – January 2018, at experimental and research gardens, agrotechnology laboratory, and Science laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fishery and Biology, University of Bangka Belitung. This research used split-plot design with the main plot is irradiation treatment while the subplot is accession or variety of cassava. Data analyzed by using F test with 95% of significant levels. The observations results showed that irradiation treatment and accession varieties cassava affecting the tubers quality. Irradiation is the best treatment because this treatment has the best value on starch content, water content, and cyanide acid content. Type of accession affected the quality of the tubers. Rakit accession is the best accession which can make as flour because it has the best starch content, water content, flour rendemen, dan amylose content. There was an interaction between irradiation and accession on the value of ash content and cyanide acid content.

Abstract

Pupuk hijau (Colopogonium mucunoides) merupakan salah satu jenis pupuk organik yang berasal dari tanaman leguminosae. Pupuk hijau berpotensi meningkatkan unsur hara tanah, terutama unsur hara N (nitrogen). Pemanfaatan pupuk hijau pada lahan pasca penambangan timah bertujuan untuk memperbaiki bahan organik tanah dan memperbaiki sifat fisik, kimia dan biologi pasir tailing. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan dan produksi tomat dengan penambahan Colopogonium mucunoides sebagai pupuk hijau pada media tailing pasca penambangan timah. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai Juni 2017 di Kebun Percobaan dan Penelitian, Fakultas Pertanian, Perikanan, dan Biologi Universitas Bangka Belitung. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap satu faktor. Tingkat perlakuannya adalah: CM0 = 0 g / tanaman, CM1 = 200g / tanaman, CM2 = 400g / tanaman, CM3 600 g / tanaman, CM4 = 800 g / tanaman, CM5 = 1000g / tanaman. Setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali sehingga diperoleh 18 unit percobaan. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 4 sampel. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa tanaman tomat dengan pupuk hijau (Colopogonium mucunoides) memberikan berbagai respon terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman tomat pada media tailing pasca penambangan timah. Pemanfaatan Colopogonium mucunoides sebagai pupuk hijau tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap semua parameter yang diamati

Abstract

Callosobruchus maculatus merupakan hama pascapanen di penyimpanan yang menyebabkan penurunan kualitas kacang hijau. Salah satu upaya pengendalian dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan tepung daun cengkeh sebagai insektisida nabati pada suhu penyimpanan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai dosis tepung daun cengkeh, mengetahui pengaruh suhu penyimpanan dan interaksi antar berbagai dosis dengan suhu penyimpanan yang berbeda dalam mengendalikan C. maculatus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen Rancangan Split Plot yang terdiri main plot 3 perlakuan dan sub plot 5 perlakuan. .Setiap perlakuan terdapat 3 ulangan. .Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan dosis dan suhu serta interaksi keduanya berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap jumlah telur, jumlah imago dan persentase kerusakan biji. Kadar air mengalami peningkatan pada suhu ±15 ºC dan penurunan pada suhu ±35 ºC. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah tepung daun cengkeh memberi pengaruh terhadap mortalitas hama C. maculatus, suhu penyimpanan berpengaruh tehadap mortalitas hama C. maculatus, dosis tepung daun cengkeh 5 g per 100 g kacang hijau dan suhu penyimpanan ±15 ºC merupakan kombinasi terbaik dalam mengendalikan hama C. maculatus pada biji kacang hijau

Abstract

Wick system is one of hydroponics system that uses wick asnutrient absorbing media. Chicken feather liquid compost can be used as a substitute for conventional nutrition in pakcoy plant cultivation using hydroponics. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken feather liquid compost and determine the best concentration chicken feather liquid compost on the growth of pakcoy, and to find out the potential of chicken feather liquid compost to replace conventional nutrient solutions in a hydroponic system. This study used completely randomized design (CRD), there were 6 level of treatments which were chicken feather liquid compost concentrations consisting of E0 (1000 ppm Ab-mix), E1 (900 ppm liquid compost ), E2 (800 ppm liquid compost), E3 (700 ppm of liquid compost), E4 (600 ppm of liquid compost), E5 (500 ppm of liquid compost) with 3 replications. The variables observed were plant height, leaf number, leaf color, wet weight and dry weight of plants. The results showed that the nutritional treatment of chicken feather liquid compost had a very significant effect compared to AB-mix, which showed that Ab-mix was superior to the observed variables,ncluding plant height, the number of leaves, leaf colour, wet weight and dry weight of plants. At the first and second week, pakcoy growth was still relatively similar to Ab-mix application. All treatments using compost chicken feather liquid compost could not replace AB-mix nutrient.

Abstract

Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) are main pests in fruit and vegetable cultivation. There are 4000 species offruit flies in the world and 35% of them are important pests, including commercial fruits that have high economic value.Merawang District is one of the centers of horticultural production, especially fruits and vegetables. One of the threats to theproduction of horticultural commodities is the attack of fruit flies. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity,distribution, and types of fruit flies in horticultural crops in Merawang Sub-District, Bangka District. The research wasconducted in descriptive method, in this case, the survey method was also used. The sampling was done in purposivesampling method. In total, 1248 specimen of fruit flies were collected by using different attractant traps and identified. Themethyl eugenol (ME) and cue lure (CUE) attractants trapped 1076 and 172 specimens, respectively. The diversity of fruit fliesin Merawang Sub-District was relatively low, in total 9 species fruit flies were observed and identified as Bactrocera dorsalis(Hendel), B. umbrosa (Fabricius),  B. carambolae (Drew & Hancock), B. occipitalis (Bezzi), Zeugodacus cucurbitae (Coquillett),B. albistrigata (de Meijer), Z. caudata (Fabricius), B. limbifera (Bezzi), and Dacus nanggalae (Drew & Hancock). The speciesdominant observed at the study site were B. dorsalis (Hendel), B. carambolae (Drew & Hancock), and B. occipitalis (Bezzi).Air Anyir Village was the highest number of fruit flies species.

Abstract

Culture crop technology with ameliorant and mulch can fulfill nutrients to improve growth of mustard on post tin mining land. This research aimed to know the effect of various ameliorant and mulch for growth of mustard on post tin mining land. The method used was experimental method with factorial completely randomize design with four replications. First factor was type of ameliorant, consist of compost, and cow manure. The second factor was type of mulch, consist of no mulch, reed mulch, and black silver plastic mulch. The results showed that type of ameliorant significantly affected number of leave, root volume, root wet weight and root dry weight. Type of mulch significantly affected plant height, number of leave, shoot wet weight and root dry weight. Interaction of ameliorant and mulch significantly affected plant height, number of leave, root volume, shoot wet weight, root wet weight and root wet weight. Compost with black silver plastic mulch tended to give better results for growth of mustard on post tin mining land.

Abstract

Jambu air cincalo memiliki aktivitas respirasi non-klimakterik dengan kadar air yang tinggi, sehingga penanganan pascapanen yang tidak tepat akan memicu pertumbuhan cendawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh edible coating dari oleoresin daun kemangi dan menentukan konsentrasi yang tepat untuk memperpanjang umur simpan buah jambu air cincalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktor tunggal, terdapat 4 perlakuan yang merupakan jenis konsentrasi oleoresin daun kemangi yang terdiri dari K0 (tanpa penambahan oleoresin), K1 (0,3% oleoresin), K2 (0,6% oleoresin) dan K3 (0,9% oleoresin) dengan 3 ulangan. Peubah yang diamati adalah susut bobot, total padatan terlarut, total asam buah, kandungan vitamin C dan organoleptik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan konsentrasi oleoresin daun kemangi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap peubah yang diamati, meliputi susut bobot, total padatan terlarut, total asam buah, dan kandungan vitamin C. Semua perlakuan dengan penambahan oleoresin maupun tanpa penambahan oleoresin daun kemangi cenderung memberikan hasil yang sama terhadap buah jambu cincalo.
