Abstract

So far, the rural population of fuel users make firewood stoves from ground or cement. Often waiting is made less efficient and produces a lot of smoke pollution, especially if the level of dryness of the wood is low. From this background, then came the idea for the manufacture of stoves that save fuel wood and minimal smoke pollution. Furthermore, to be able to achieve this goal, in this study a biomass furnace will be developed that has a combustion air regulation system and a firewood drying system before use. Research implementation is divided into furnace design (design and fabrication) and testing (combustion characteristics and performance). Research begins with the design of the dimensions and shape of the furnace to be made. Furthermore, fabrication of stoves from Stainless Steel plate materials will be carried out at the Mechanical Technology Laboratory, IST AKPRIND. The stove produced by the construction will be tested with fuel wood in terms of combustion characteristics and performance. The results show that biomass stoves can be used and produced for household and small-scale industries.

Abstract

Tube bending is a general term for the process of forming metals used to form pipes or tubes permanently. By utilizing plastic deformation, straight objects are bent to form arches. Metal pipes in the form of arches can be used as a connection to machine construction, circular ladders, bicycle frames, motor frames, furniture, musical instruments. To improve time and energy efficiency in the bending process, a roll bending machine is designed. This machine is also expected to meet the needs of buckling pipes so that it can be used as a business field by the community. This machine can bend pipes 3/4 inch to 1 inch with a thickness of 1 mm.

Abstract

Plastic wastes have considerable potential to be converted into alternative fuels through pyrolysis process and reduce negative impacts on the environment pollution. Plastic pyrolysis process carried out to obtain hydrocarbon compounds that can be used as fuel and increase the economic value of the plastic wastes. The raw material used is Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). This study was conducted to determine the effect of variations in the mass of catalyst on the characteristics and applications of waste plastics pyrolysis oil (WPO). The reactor used was a batch-type fixed with a temperature of 450ºC, nitrogen flow rate of 0.8 l/min, which feedstock used is 2000gr and natural zeolite as a catalyst. The use of mass variation of Catalyst Feedstock Ratio (CFR) are 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15. The results showed that the increasing use of the mass of catalyst have an effect in decreasing of liquid products. Most liquid products obtained in the use of 100g catalyst, with a percentage of 56.75%wt liquid products, 38.60%wt gas products and 4.65%wt solid products. The results of the characteristics and properties testing of plastics pyrolysis oils include specific gravity, kinematic viscosity, flash point, pour point, cloud point, water content, ash content, carbon number distribution and PONA analysis showed that the pyrolysis oil has similarities with kerosene and diesel oil as well can be developed as analternative fuels.

Abstract

Sebuah kelompok pemuda-pemudi yang ada di Kalijeruk, Widodomartani, Ngemplak, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta memiliki potensi kewirausahaan melalui budidaya ikan air tawar. Ikan tersebut adalah lele. Namun, potensi ini perlu diasah lebih lanjut agar dapat berkembang secara optimal. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Stimulus (PKMS) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan para pemuda di bidang budidaya ikan air tawar, dan dapat meningkatkan kas pemuda. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan untuk mencapi tujuan tersebut adalah survai lokasi dan kondisi kolam, pembelian material untuk perbaikan kolam, pelaksanaan kerja bakti perbaikan kolam, pembelian bibit ikan lele, penyebaran benih ikan, pembuatan jadwal pemberian pakan ikan, pelatihan penyembuhan penyakit ikan, pemanenan ikan, serta penjualan ikan hasil panen. Program ini menghasilkan peningkatan solidaritas antara kaum muda dan keterampilan budidaya ikan yang baik. Selain itu, para pemuda dapat membuat kolam dan media air yang tepat untuk membudidayakan ikan dan dapat memilih bibit ikan dan pelet ikan yang lebih baik. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan semangat kewirausahaan kaum muda dan akhirnya meningkatkan kas kelompok pemuda untuk program sosial lain.
