Abstract

Since the rate of forest destruction in the world continues to increase due to illegal logging, many international relations actors, both State and non-state actors encourage the creation of good forest governance. One of those involved in this mechanism is Indonesia and the Europe-Union. Both parties agreed on a voluntary cooperation scheme known as FLEGT-VPA. This study intends to see the correlation of forest management cooperation schemes with increasing export of Indonesian forest products to the EU. This is done because FLEGT-VPA cooperation is a cooperation related to forest governance, but in its implementation is very closely related to export activities. Moreover, Indonesia itself relies on the timber that is included in forest products as its pre-eminent commodities, therefore this research also tries to describe Indonesia's participation as a voluntary partner in FLEGT-VPA is inseparable from the motive of national interest in the economy.

Abstract

Venezuela is one of the Latin American countries that have a history of governance dynamics quite complex, ranging from coup attempts, dictatorial leadership to economic and social problems. In this study discussed the dynamics of politics and economics under the leadership of Nicolas Maduro and the policy steps taken in overcoming the problem of the economic crisis which led to the instability of the country. In this study using descriptive research methods and library research data collection techniques, and using the theory of decision-making process by Graham T. Allison to analyze the results of the study. In conclusion, Maduro's leadership tends to use organizational process models or decisions based on the work of the organization/party in determining the direction of policy, both domestic and foreign policy. This was due to the strong influence of Maduro supporters from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) party, where the party was a supporter of the previous president, Hugo Chavez. Although Maduro inherited the Chavez leadership style that embraced the socialist system, Maduro was deemed unsuccessful in overcoming the problem of the Venezuelan crisis.

Abstract

Interesting events in the last 2 (two) elections, where there is a phenomenon of political parties contesting in the 2014 and 2019 elections trying to create an election that puts forward checks and balances between government support parties and opposition parties in the form of coalitions. In the 2014 elections there was a Great Indonesian Coalition (KIH) government, consisting of PDI-P, Nasdem, PKB, Hanura and PKPI, and the opposition Red and White coalition (KMP), consisting of Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, PKS, PPP and the United Nations. It is hoped that the people will have checks and balances so that the minority government is controlled by a large opposition. But that hope vanished as Golkar, PAN and PPP joined the government, so the opposition was no longer helpless, because it only left Gerindra and PKS. The recurring incident in the 2019 election, in which the presidential election gave birth to 2 coalition supporters of Jokowi-Maruf Amien Coalition of Working Indonesia (PDI-P, Nasdem, PKB, Hanura, PKPI, Golkar, PPP, Perindo, PSI) and the Coalition supporting Prabowo-Sandiaga, named The Indonesian Coalition is just and prosperous (Gerindra, PKS, PAN, Democrat), it is very apparent that there is a desire from PAN and Democrats to be part of the government coalition, inconsistencies occur in coalition in Indonesia.

Abstract

Sundanese local wisdom is the values resulting from the wisdom of the Sundanese people in carrying out their lives as people, rishis and kings. The kings of Sundanese at that time in leading were guided by the characteristics a leader must have written in the ancient Sanghyang Siksakandang Karesian script. Method using the literature review method by analyzing the literature on Sundanese leadership in the past and in the present. The results of data analysis from several journals discuss Sundanese local wisdom in leadership issues based on the ancient Siksakandang Karesian text, which explains that Sundanese leadership is guided by parigeuing. The figure of an ideal leader must stick to the astaguna principle of "eight wisdoms", so that his leadership is harmonious, good, and harmonious. The eight wisdoms as stated by Darsa (1998) are as follows: Animan (gentle), Ahiman (firm), Mahiman (broad-minded, Lagiman (agile / nimble / skilled), Prapti (right on target), Prakamya (tenacious / diligent) , Isitwa (honest), Wasitwa (open to criticism) This Sundanese leadership figure has weaknesses, because openness and admiration are one of the obstacles that make it difficult for Sundanese people to compete at the national level with Javanese ethnicities. Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia and Malaysia have close ties especially in their land borders, making it easier to access buying and selling that occurs between communities on the border. Especially in trade to drug trafficking that occurs in border areas such as the Entikong-Sarawak region. Purchase until delivery of drugs. The circulation of drugs that enter from Malaysia is not only from the waters border, but also from land to air lines. In addition, drug traffickers not only pass through the official flight routes and ports, but drug traffickers entering from Malaysia can also take advantage of unofficial lanes on the land and water borders between Indonesia and Malaysia which have minimal security. The research of this study is to find out, explore and describe the cooperation carried out by the governments of Indonesia and Malaysia in dealing with drug trafficking on the border, especially on the Entikong and Sarawak borders, where the drug smuggling is most often deposited by couriers or which is directly taken by the dealer. By changing the form of drug packaging into a form or stored in another place, which can trick the officers at immigration. This research is expected to be useful to increase the repertoire of the development of international relations science. Furthermore, practically, this research is expected to be useful and useful for decision makers, especially the central and regional governments of the two countries, in addressing drug trafficking and trafficking that occurs on the borders of the two countries, because it will threaten the lives of the two generations. The results of this study are with the cooperation of the two governments which are always discussed in once a year in the General Border Committee forum and cooperation between the institutions of the two countries such as the National Narcotics Agency, Customs, Police and PDRM are expected to help eradicate and reduce circulation and Drug sales that occur in the border areas of the two countries, both in the sea, air, and land. There were successes after Indonesia and Malaysia collaborated in combating drug trafficking as in 2014, Kuching PDRM succeeded in capturing two Indonesian Police officers related to drugs, which in this matter coordinated the POLRI through the West Kalimantan Regional Police with Malaysian PDRM. The collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia is considered important because the location of the two countries is very close. As well as the two countries have a long coastline, this has the potential to serve as one of the entry points for drug smuggling. Although various prevention efforts have been carried out in the eradication of drugs by the two countries by involving various parties, there are still many obstacles that become obstacles in cooperation between the two countries to be able to minimize the level of drug trafficking and trafficking that occurs in border lanes, whether it's official or unofficial border lines.

Abstract

Understanding the development of low-carbon energy systems and the end of today's fossil fuel-based systems is critical to predicting the future of global energy geopolitics. As renewable energy is a post-COVID-19 goal, geopolitical tensions between fossil fuel producing countries have been exposed. This research examines the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the energy sector and how these changes affect global geopolitical dynamics. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research results show that the COVID-19 pandemic has been a significant trigger in accelerating the energy transition towards renewable energy sources. The impact involves a shift in global dependence on fossil fuels, with producing countries facing declining influence while countries innovative in renewable technologies gain geopolitical advantage. International collaboration on renewable energy is proving crucial in accelerating global adoption, while decreasing global dependence on fossil fuel supplies is changing geopolitical power dynamics. Increasing energy independence, while bringing opportunities, also raises technical challenges that need to be overcome.
