PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI DAN SELF EFFICACY MATEMATIK SISWA SMP MELALUI STRATEGI THINK TALK WRITE

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji masalah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan self efficacy matematik siswa SMP melalui strategi Think Talk Write. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretes dan postes pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Subjek penelitian adalah 75 siswa salah satu SMP tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 di kota Cimahi. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Diawal pembelajaran kedua kelas diberikan pretes, kemudian pada kelas eksperimen diberikan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan strategi Think Talk Write dan kelas kontrol diberikan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari tes dan non tes, untuk insturumen tes berbentuk uraian yang terdiri dari 5 butir soal dan instrumen nontes berbentuk skala sikap yang terdiri dari 35 butir pernyataan. Kemudian data hasil penelitian diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif inferensial dengan menggunakan uji perbedaan rata-rata dan untuk melihat apakah terdapat asosiasi dari ketiga variabel terikat tersebut menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan self efficacy matematik siswa SMP yang menggunakan strategi Think Talk Write lebih baik daripada siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Dan tidak terdapat asosiasi antara kemampuan komunikasi dan self efficacy matematik siswa. Abstract This study aims to examine the problem of improving the communication skills and self efficacy mathematics of junior high school students through Think Talk Write strategy. The research method used in this research is quasi experimental method with pretest and post test design on experimental group and control group. The subjects of the study were 75 students of one junior high school 2016/2017 at Cimahi. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Early learning of both classes was given pretest, then in the experimental class was given learning by using Think Talk Write strategy and control class was given conventional learning. The research instrument consisted of tests and non-tests, for a decode test consisting of 5 items and a non-tests instrument of attitude scale consisting of 35 items of statement. Then data of research is processed and analyzed by using descriptive statistic inferential and average difference test, it is to see if there is association of three dependent variable using Chi Square test. The results concluded that the achievement and improvement of communication skills and self efficacy mathematics of junior high students using Think Talk Write strategy is better than students using conventional learning. And there is not association between communication skills and students' self efficacy mathematics. Keywords: think talk write strategy, mathematical communication, self efficacy
