Abstract

Stres merupakan masalah psikologi yang sering dialami lansia. Stres berhubungan dengan perubahan dalam aktivitas sehari-hari, status sosial ekonomi rendah, isolasi sosial, serta penurunan kondisi mental. Penanganan non farmakologi yang bisa diberikan untuk manajemen stres pada lansia adalah brain gym. Brain gym merupakan senam yang menggerakan ekstremitas atas kanan dan kiri serta melibatkan kemampuan berpikir dan mengingat. Kolaborasi brain gym dengan gamelan Bali akan mengarahkan fokus dan konsentrasi lansia ke arah emosi yang menyenangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh brain gym kolaborasi gamelan Bali terhadap stres pada lansia. Rancangan yang digunakan one group pre-test and post-test design terhadap 30 sampel lansia yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penilaian terhadap stres sampel menggunakan kuesioner DASS 21. Pengukuran skor stres sebelum dan setelah intervensi menunjukan adanya penurunan stres dengan rata-rata sebesar dua. Hasil uji statistik Wilcoxon Rank Test didapatkan nilai p=0,000 (p<0,05) yang berarti ada pengaruh signifikan brain gym kolaborasi gamelan Bali terhadap stres lansia di Banjar Pucak Sari Denpasar Utara.Kata kunci: brain gym, gamelan bali, lansia, stresTHE INFLUENCE OF BALI GAMELAN COLLABORATION GYM BRAIN ON STRESS IN ELDERLYABSTRACTStress is a psychological problem which mostly experienced by the elderly. Stress is associated with changes in activities of daily life, low socioeconomic status, social isolation, and decrease in mental condition. Non-pharmacological treatment which can be given to manage stress in the elderly is the brain gym. Brain gym is an exercise program with movement the upper extremity of right and left and involving the capability to think and remembering. Brain gym collaboration with Balinese traditional music will lead the focus and concentration of elderly toward pleasing emotion. The purpose of research to determine the effect of brain gym collaboration with Balinese traditional music toward stress among the elderly. The design uses one group pre-test and post-test design performed by 30 samples chosen by saturated sample. Data were collected by evaluating of stress using DASS 21 questionnaires. The measurement of stress scores before and after the intervention shows a decrease in stress by an average of two. Wilcoxon rank test results obtained p value=0,000 (p<0,05) which means there is the influence of brain gym collaboration with Balinese traditional music on stress among the elderly in Banjar Pucak Sari North Denpasar.Keywords: balinese traditional music, brain gym, elderly, stress
