Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach in increasing fluency thinking ability in buffered solutions topic. This research used quasi experiment method with non equivalent control group design. All of student in the 11th grade of MIA1, and MIA2 at SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung for 2014/2015 academic year were taken as samples of this research by using purposive sampling. After the learning was done, the average n-Gain in the control and experimental classes were obtained 0.29 and 0.61, respectively. Based on t test, it was known that the learning by using scientific approach was effective in increasing fluency thinking ability of students on buffered solutions topic.
