Abstract

Kata kunci : WUS,  kanker serviks, IVA ABSTRACTCervical cancer is one of the highest causes of death in women of childbearing age. Nearly 50% of cervical cancer sufferers apparently do not do an Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid. The coverage of early cervical cancer screening in Indonesia through Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid is still very low, which is around 5%, whereas the effective screening coverage in reducing morbidity and mortality due to cervical cancer is 85%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge and attitudes with the interest of women of childbearing age to the inspection of acetic acid visual inspection in the health center Ch.M.Tiahahu Ambon City. This study is an observational analytic study with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in November 2018 with a population of Fertile Age Women who live in Ambon City. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the level of knowledge and attitudes of respondents were mostly in the poor category namely 81.8% and 69.3%. This affects the interest of respondents Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid only 40.9%. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the level of knowledge (p = 0.002) and attitude (p = 0.001) influences the interest of women of childbearing age conducting Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid. It is recommended to health workers in Puskesmas Ch. M. Tiahahu to make more frequent counseling about cervical cancer and IVA examination at least 2 times a month to women of childbearing age in the working area.
