<![CDATA[AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi sebaran taksonomi kognitif siswa kelas X MIPA SMAN 1 Tarakan. Penelitian telah dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Tarakan pada semester ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 pada bulan Agustus-Oktober 2020 mengenai Analisis Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi melalui Penyelesaian Soal HOTS pada Pembelajaran Biologi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai standar deviasi keseluruhan level kognitif sebesar 11,87 dimana hasil tersebut lebih kecil dari pada nilai rata-rata sebesar 63,83 yang artinya penyebaran data sangat kecil terhadap nilai rata-rata sehingga hasil tes kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa kurang bervariasi. Hal ini terjadi karena saat proses pelaksanaan tes dilakukan secara daring sehingga menyulitkan peneliti dan guru mata pelajaran melakukan pengawasan. Siswa dapat diduga melakukan kerjasama dalam menyelesaikan soal. Rata-rata kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa sebesar 63,83 tergolong sedang. Sementara itu, berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh sebaran dimensi kognitif siswa kelas X MIPA SMAN 1 Tarakan yaitu dengan kategori rendah sebesar 37 (C4), kategori rendah sebesar 21 (C5) dan kategori sangat rendah sebesar 5,2 (C6). Kata kunci: Berpikir tingkat tinggi, soal HOTS AbstractThis study aims to determine and analyze the high-order thinking skills of cognitive taxonomy distribution of students of class X MIPA SMAN 1 Tarakan. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Tarakan in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year in August-October 2020 regarding the Analysis of Higher-Level Thinking Ability by completing HOTS Questions in Biology Learning. Based on the results of the study, the standard deviation value of the overall cognitive level was 11.87 where the results were smaller than the average value of 63.83, which means that the data distribution was minimal to the average value so that the results of the students' high-order thinking skills test were less varied. This happens because the test implementation process is carried out online, making it difficult for researchers and subject teachers to supervise. Students can be expected to collaborate in solving problems. The average high-order thinking ability of the students was 63.83, which was classified as moderate.
