<![CDATA[ABSTRAKPerencanaan perpustakaan UHO dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan dan fungsi perpustakaan sebagai prasaranapendidikan, penelitian, pelestarian, informasi, dan rekreasi untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan dan keberdayaan bangsasehingga keberadaan perpustakaan sangatlah penting dan berdampak besar pada peradaban umat manusia khususnya dibidang pendidikan. Seiring waktu, eksistensi perpustakaan UHO cenderung kurang diminati dan tidak sesuai dengankarakteristik pengguna mayoritas yaitu kaum milineal yang menyukai hal- hal baru, ekspresif, menarik dan berfikiranterbuka. Oleh karena itu senada dengan tema yang diinginkan, maka penulis mengambil pendekatan arsitektur metafora.Penelitian ini ditunjukkan untuk; Pertama, mengolah tapak yang tepat pada perpustakaan UHO dengan pendekatanarsitektur Metafora; Kedua, mengolah kebutuhan ruang yang sama pada perpustakaan UHO; Ketiga, menerapkan prinsipprinsiparsitektur metafora pada perpustakaan UHO. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode grounded theory, sumber dataterdiri dari data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi.Berdasarkan hasil desain penelitian ini disimpulkan sebagai berikut; Pertama, gedung perpustakaan UHO menerapkanprinsip- prinsip pemusatan tempat sehingga aksebilitas mudah; Kedua, dalam pengolahan kebutuhan ruang menerapkanprinsip function follow forms yaitu kebutuhan ruang mengikuti bentuk bangunan; Ketiga, esensi arsitektur Metafora danesensi perpustakaan disinergikan sehingga menghasilkan perancangan yang diterapkan pada bentuk dan tampilanbangunan.Kata Kunci : Perpustakaan, Universitas, Arsitektur Metafora, Kendari.ABSTRACTUHO's library planning is motivated by the needs and functions of libraries as infrastructure for education, research,preservation, information, and recreation to increase the intelligence and empowerment of the nation so that the existenceof libraries is very important and has a major impact on human civilization, especially in the field of education. Over time,the existence of UHO libraries tends to be less desirable and does not match the characteristics of the majority users,namely millennials who like new things, are expressive, interesting and open-minded. Therefore, in line with the desiredtheme, the author takes a metaphorical architectural approach. This research is shown to; First, cultivate the rightfootprint in the UHO library with a Metaphor architecture approach; Second, processing the same space requirements inthe UHO library; Third, apply the principles of deconstruction architecture to the UHO library. This research usesgrounded theory method, the data source consists of primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques consist ofobservation, interview, and documentation techniques. Based on the results of this research design, it is concluded asfollows; First, the UHO library building applies the principles of centralization so that accessibility is easy; Second, inprocessing space requirements, the principle of function follow forms is applied, namely the space requirements follow theshape of the building; Third, the essence of Metaphor architecture and the essence of the library are synergized to producedesigns that are applied to the shape of the building.Keywords : Libraries, Universities, Architecture of Metaphor, Kendari]]>
