Ahmad Yani Pabelan Kartasura Tromol Pos I Surakarta 57102 Telpon (0271) 717412 Ponsel: 081329107250 Pos-El: aliimron_almakruf@yahoo.com/ali_imron@ums.ac.id AbstractThis study aimed to: 1) describe the use of imagery in the poem"Lord, Were So Close" by Abdulhadi WM, 2) describe the ideasimplicit in the poem. The method used is descriptive qualitativemethod. Data collection was done by using libraries and record.Data analysis was performed by the method of semiotic reading of the model consists of readings heuristics and hermeneutics.The results and discussion show that: results and discussion show that: 1) the poem "Lord, WereSo Close", the poet use imagery to create the imagery on the ideas presented in an interesting and expressive. Images areused in the poem are visual images and intellectual images.Interestingly, the poems imagery shows distinctiveness anduniqueness as a creative form of individuation poets create new forms of innovative language, 2) the idea is implicit in the notion of transcendental this or prophetic spirit expressedrelationship with the intimacy between Creator and creature; 3) stilistika study literature can make an important contribution in the analysis of literary works. In that study stilistikadescribe the phenomenon of language in literature to reveal thepeculiarities and distinctive language as a means of literaryexpression in order to create the effect of a particular meaning in order to achieve an aesthetic effect.
