Abstract

This research aims to increase the activities and skills of students class VA Elementary School 2 North Metro in reading the story through the application of methods survey, question, read, Recite, review. Methods used in this research is descriptive qualitative through classroom action research (PTK) with cycle of action. each cycle consists of four stages is planning, acting, observing, and reflecting.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan keterampilan siswa kelas VA SD Negeri 2 Metro Utara dalam membaca cerita melalui penerapan metode survey, question, read, recite, review. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif melalui penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) dengan siklus tindakan. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi.Kata kunci: Aktivitas, Keterampilan Membaca, Metode SQ3R.
