<![CDATA[Tujuan penelitian menganalisis efektivitas penyidikan tindak pidana pencemaran nama baik melalui media sosial di Polrestabes Makassar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian hukum normatif dan hukum empiris. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyidikan tindak pidana pencemaran nama baik melalui media sosial di Polrestabes Makassar kurang efektif dikarenakan terkendala oleh identitas beberapa terlapor yang menggunakan akun palsu atau identitas pemilik akun tersebut tidak diketahui. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efektivitas penyidikan tindak pidana pencemaran nama baik melalui media sosial di Polrestabes Makassar adalah faktor substansi hukum, faktor struktur hukum, faktor budaya hukum serta faktor sarana dan prasarana. The research objective is to analyze the effectiveness of investigating criminal acts of defamation through social media at the Makassar Police Station. This research method uses the type of normative legal research and empirical law. The results of this study indicate that the investigation of criminal defamation through social media at Polrestabes Makassar is less effective because it is constrained by the identity of several reported parties who use fake accounts or the identity of the account owner is unknown. The factors that affect the effectiveness of the investigation of criminal acts of defamation through social media at the Makassar Polrestabes are the legal substance factor, the legal structure factor, the legal culture factor and the facilities and infrastructure factor.]]>
