The horticultural agricultural sector has good development prospects in Indonesia because it has high economic value, but this is difficult to realize due to low crop productivity due to a lack of high-quality seeds. Seed quality is influenced by several factors, such as viability and vigor. The long seed storage process causes the viability and vigor of the seeds to below. One of the efforts to overcome this problem is seed coating. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best effect between the composition coating material on the quality of the TSS shallot seeds Trisula variety. The research was carried out at the Laboratory and Green House of the UPT Development of Rice and Palawija Seeds, Randuagung, Singosari, Malang, East Java from November 2021 to January 2022. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor, composition of the coating material consisting of 4 the treatment level is, K0 = Control, K1 = CMC 1% + Humic Acid 0.6% + Gypsum 20 grams, K2 = CMC 1.5% + Humic Acid 0.6% + Gypsum 20 grams, and K3 = CMC 2% + Humic Acid 0.6% + Gypsum 20 grams. The results showed that the coating material formulation had a significant effect on the quality of the seeds of three horticultural commodities. The treatment of 1% CMC + 0.6% Humic Acid + Gypsum 20 grams became the best coating material formulation for red chili seeds of the Dori F1 variety and Green Roker variety cucumber seeds, while the best coating material formulation for TSS seeds of shallots of the Trisula variety was CMC 1, 5% + Humic Acid 0.6% + Gypsum 20 grams.
