PENINGKATAN KESELAMATAN KERJA MELALUI PEMERIKSAAN BUTA WARNA (IMPROVING WORK SAFETY THROUGH COLOR BLIND INSPECTION)

Abstract

Abstrak: Buta warna adalah gangguan kesehatan yang pada beberapa profesi bisa mempengaruhi kapasitas dan keselamatan kerja. Permasalahan mitra adalah beberapa profesi ataupun pendidikan tinggi yang menjadi tujuan program keahlian siswa mereka, menjadikan buta warna sebagai salah satu syarat masuk. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah membantu mitra mendeteksi dini buta warna pada siswa, sehingga siswa yang terdeteksi buta warna bisa diarahkan untuk memilih jurusan yang tidak mensyaratkan buta warna dalam pekerjaan atau studi lanjut. Metode pemeriksaan buta warna yang digunakan adalah metode Ishihara dengan 14 plate. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Kota Tarakan, pada 03 Desember 2022 oleh dua dosen sebagai tim pemeriksa. Peserta sebanyak 36 siswa laki-laki dari kelas XII. Hasil pemeriksaan buta didapatkan dari 36 siswa, 34 (94%) siswa normal (tidak buta warna) dan 2 (6%) siswa mengalami buta warna parsial. Rekomendasi: siswa yang mengalami buta warna parsial direkomendasikan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan lanjutan ke dokter spesialis mata atau diarahkan untuk memilih jurusan lain. Abstract: Color blindness is a health problem that in several professions can affect their work capacity and safety. The partner's problem is that some professions or higher education which are the goals of their student expertise programs, making color blindness as one of the entry requirements. The purpose of this activity is to help partners early detect color blindness in students, so students who are detected color blind can be directed to choose majors that do not require color blindness in work or further studies. The color blindness inspection method used is the Ishihara method with 14 plates. Community service were carried out at a vocational high school in Tarakan City, on December 3, 2022 by two lecturers as an examination team. Participants were 36 male students from grade XII. The results of examining color blindness were obtained from 36 students: 34 (94%) students were normal (not color blind) and 2 (6%) students had partial color blindness. Recommendation: students who have partial color blindness were recommended to carry out further examinations to an ophthalmologist or directed to choose a major.
