Konsumsi Sayur dan Buah untuk Menurunkan Risiko Obesitas pada Remaja di Jakarta

Abstract

Excessive fat accumulation in obesity increases the risk of health problems. Adolescents are at risk of obesity which may persist into adulthood. Obesity that occurs in teenagers may also be caused by low fiber intake. This study aimed to determine the relationship between vegetable and fruit consumption and the risk of obesity in adolescents at SMP X Jakarta. This research applieed an observational study with a cross-sectional design. This research involved 157 teenagers selected using a multistage sampling technique. In the first stage, purposive sampling was applied, then continued with simple random sampling. Vegetable and fruit consumption was measured by filling out a questionnaire, while height and weight were measured directly by researchers. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The analysis results showed the p value = 0.026. It was concluded that there is a relationship between vegetable and fruit consumption and the risk of obesity in adolescents. It is hoped that teenagers will pay more attention to the nutrition contained in the food they consume.Keywords: teenagers; risk of obesity; vegetable and fruit ABSTRAK Penumpukan lemak secara berlebihan pada obesitas meningkatkan risiko gangguan kesehatan. Remaja memiliki risiko obesitas yang kemungkinan dapat terjadi hingga dewasa. Obesitas yang terjadi pada remaja mungkin juga disebabkan oleh asupan serat yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan risiko obesitas pada remaja di SMP X Jakarta. Penelitian ini menerapkan studi observasional dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Penelitian ini melibatkan 157 remaja yang dipilih dengan teknik multistage sampling. Pada tahap pertama diterapkan purposive sampling, lalu dilanjutkan dengan simple random sampling. Konsumsi sayur dan buah diukur melalui pengisian kuesioner, sedangkan tinggi badan dan berat badan diukur secara langsung oleh peneliti. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai p = 0,026. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan risiko obesitas pada remaja. Diharapkan agar remaja lebih memperhatikan gizi yang terkandung di dalam makanan yang dikonsumsi.Kata kunci: remaja; risiko obesitas; sayur dan buah
