Penerapan Metode Kreatif Vocalizing untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Bernyanyi pada Ekstrakurikuler Paduan Suara Sekolah Menengah Pertama

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bernyanyi pada anggota ekstra-kurikuler paduan suara SMP Negeri 2 Wagir, Kabupaten Malang. Penerapan metode kreatif vocalizing dilakukan demi meningkatkan keterampilan bernyanyi terutama dalam menyanyikan lagu-lagu ceremonial. Metode kreatif vocalizing merupakan kegiatan olah vokal yang lebih menyenangkan dan bervariasi. Olah vocal atau yang biasa dikenal dengan vocalizing merupakan kegiatan pemanasan yang dilakukan sebelum bernyanyi agar penyanyi lebih nyaman ketika bernyanyi, mengurangi resiko cedera pita suara, dan dapat memperluas jangkauan range vokal. Peningkatan keterampilan ber-nyanyi dapat dilihat dari penguasaan ketepatan nada, ketepatan partitur, choral sound dan impresi. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan yakni Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang diharapkan dapat meningkat-kan kualitas pembelajaran. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yakni kualitatif deskriptif untuk memaparkan data melalui kalimat dan kuantitatif untuk memaparkan data angka capaian keteram-pilan bernyanyi siswa. Subjek penelitian merupakan peserta ekstrakurikuler paduan suara SMP Negeri 2 Wagir sejumlah 35 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode kreatif vocalizing efektif diterapkan. Tingkat ketuntasan siswa pada tahap Pra-siklus yakni 56 persen, kemudian me-ningkat menjadi 69 persen pada siklus I. Selanjutnya, pada tahap Siklus II ketuntasan siswa terus meningkat mencapai 81 persen. Kata kunci: paduan suara, metode kreatif, ekstrakurikuler The Implementation of Creative Vocal Warm Up to Enhance Singing Skills in Choir Extracurricular in Junior High School This study aims to improve the singing skills of members of the choir extracurricular at SMP Negeri 2 Wagir, Malang Regency. The application of the creative vocal warm up method is carried out to improve singing skills, especially in singing ceremonial songs. Creative vocal warm up method is a more fun and varied vocal activity. Vocal warm up or commonly known as vocalizing is a warm-up activity carried out before singing so that singers are more comfortable when singing, reduce the risk of vocal cord injuries, and can expand the range of the vocal range. The improvement in singing skills can be seen from the mastery of techniques including interpretation, intonation, fidelity to score and impression. Classroom Action Research is the type of research used, which is expected to improve the quality of learning. Research approach used is descriptive qualitative to describe the data through sentences and quantitative to describe the data on the number of students' singing skills achieve-ment. The research subjects were 35 students in the choir extracurricular at SMP Negeri 2 Wagir. The results of the research show that vocalizing creative methods are effectively applied. The level of completeness of students in the Pre-cycle was 56 percent, which then increased to 69 percent in Cycle I. Furthermore, in the final test of Cycle II, student completeness continued to increase, reaching 81 percent. Keywords: choral, creative method, extracurricular
