The background of this research is the low ability to think critically in the science subject of fifth grade students at SDN 1 Karangkendal. This study aims to: Determine the effect of the problem-based learning model assisted by media images on students' critical thinking skills, determine the increase in students' critical thinking skills through the problem-based learning model assisted by media images and determine student responses after using the problem-based learning model assisted by image media . This research is an experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were all fifth grade students. By using a random sampling technique it was applied to the VA class as the experimental class with 41 students and the VB class as the control class with 38 students. Research data was collected through written tests and questionnaires. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using independent samples t-test, Sig < a, ie 0.000 < 0.05 is obtained, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is an influence of the problem based learning model assisted by media images on the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students and the results of the questionnaire data analysis proved that student responses increased after using the problem based learning model assisted by image media.
