This research is motivated by the results of a preliminary study that has been conducted by showing that students lack writing skills, especially in explanatory text. Students experience difficulties in expressing thoughts, ideas, and ideas on writing. Students need learning media as a tool to be able to assist in expressing their ideas and ideas. This encourages researchers to conduct research aimed at facilitating students in writing explanatory texts, namely by using a single image as media. This research is entitled "The Use of Single Image Media in Writing Skills of Explanatory Texts of Class V Elementary School Students". This research is an experimental research, namely with a quantitative approach with the pre-experimental design method. This researcher aims to determine whether there is an increase in the use of single image media on the skills of writing explanatory texts in class V of elementary school. This study used the One Group Pretest-Postest Design research design, with total of 28 students at SDN 2 Manonjaya and data analysis for this study used descriptive statistics. In collecting data, the technique he used was an explanatory text writing test. Data analysis in processing this data used Microsoft Excel 2013 and the SPSS 26 program. The results of writing pretest explanatory texts were at an average score of 7.2 while in the posttest the average score was 15.1. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the skills of writing explanatory texts using a single image as media.
