Abstract

The purpose of this research was to increase the activity and study result of student by implementing discovery learning with visual media. Type of research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Steps of the cycle were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The instrument of research data was using the observation sheet and questions test. The technique of data analysis used qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results of the research showed that the implementation of discovery learning method in social studies learning can increase the activity and study result of student.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model discovery learning dengan media visual. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan 2 siklus. Setiap siklusnya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Alat pengumpulan data berupa lembar observasi dan soal tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penerapan model discovery learing dengan media visual pada mata pelajaran ilmu pengetahuan sosial dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci: model discovery learning, media visual, aktivitas, hasil belajar.
