<![CDATA[Education plays a very important role in a person’s life based on the values and norms background. It aims to prepare the person in balance, unity, organic, harmonious, dynamic, in order to achieve the goals of human life. In its development, theories regarding the basis of philosophy must be considered. The explanation of each theory will be elaborated in this study. To answer the research question, literature study was use. The result is that the basic philosophy of education can be seen from its application in terms of ontology, epistemology and axiology. Ontology is the basis for sorting out the fields of science. This relates to the separation of knowledge based on its core. Epistemology talks about methods of obtaining knowledge, which is how knowledge can be gain at the maximum rate. While axiology talks about the purpose of knowledge, therefore one is able to choose what knowledge to use for the purpose of solving his problems.]]>
