This research is motivated by the fact that some students are addicted to social media. One of the factors that influence social media addiction is interpersonal communication skills. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational type. The population of this study were 369 students enrolled in SMA Negeri 1 Kubung with a sample of 203 students determined by simple random sampling technique. The instruments used were "interpersonal communication skills checklist" and "social media addiction checklist". The findings in this study show that: (1) interpersonal communication skills are in the moderate category, (2) social media addiction is in the moderate category, (3) there is a negative and significant relationship between interpersonal communication skills and social media addiction with a correlation coefficient of -0.425 and a significant value of 0.000. Implications for Guidance and Counseling can be done by providing information services, group guidance and group counseling.
